Thought Fleck was better than Norwood who I thought was fairly anonymous after his booking, when he could no longer tackle in case he got sent off

Yeah it sort of ended his game, but for me Lundstram is our most consistent player and does a huge amount at both ends of the pitch, so he's in, Norwood organises and has his delivery, so he's in (although he's got clangers in him) so you're down to one place, and it's between Fleck and Freeman, and based on this season, Freeman has it for me.

My record of not watching live and us doing well continues. Getting fucking sick of it now been 2 years now

If anyone thinks that's against the run of play , they should have been there in '75 when we went in 2-0 down . It could easily have been 5 or 6 nil .

We won 3-2 .

I mentioned that game on shoutbox I was on me paper round that day with me little radio dancing all over Frecheville

Charlie Nicholas watched us today on ssn, and at last he got us. High praise for all but especially John Egan and the Lundstrams pass.

I did a paper round in Frecheville in those days! I delivered from Jack’s kiosk in Intake bus terminus. What a dirty old bastard he was!

OMG Nick yes he was I worked for Mrs Butler on Frecheville shops small world mate, oh the cabin at 95 terminus was a grotty old hole ideal for Jack.

Jack kept a huge stash of porn in his back room and used to rub himself up against us paper boys. Don’t think he’d ever seen soap. Horrible old twat.

Were you at Frecheville School?

I left in 77 so very likely we knew each other! I see that your year has a reunion coming up, being organised by Gail Furniss.

Yes mate this Friday I believe I remember Gail, not well enough to attend sadly, I bet you know my brother Nigel (Charlie)

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, speaking to MOTD: "We're delighted. It was just a ridiculous game. That's possibly the worst we've played all season. We didn't play anything like our best today but managed to win the game.
"Everton put a lot of balls in our box, which opened us up a bit in the first half. Out of possession we were really good. The goalkeeper and our three defenders did really well. I think they had a million corners today.
"We rode our luck a little bit - we certainly didn't have any last week. Everybody says that to stay in the Premier League, your home form has to be spot on. We've reversed that thought process."

If you know Nidge you must know me Pete (the original Charlie}

i think we can admit that wasnt best performance we've seen was reminiscent of leeds. as we knew this would be tough, we'd be 2nd best, we need to show a different side as everton had players from Barcelona Juventus Arsenal + numerous England internationals. sometimes you have to win ugly. but we did what we been crying out for taking our chances. that cost last week won us this week

that was a huge victory because Everton felt like a must not lose game already. with next week in mind because 8th feels a whole load better than being 16/17th needing to take points of reigning European champions likely with a 100% record to stay out of relegation zone. who haven't dropped a league point since 3rd March & since 23rd january liverpool only lost 2 games in all competitions Man city & Barcelona

Apart from he said when O Connell goes forward, Baldock drops back into defence as cover.
When in fact, Baldock is much more likely to be attacking the back stick trying to get on the end of O Connell’s cross.
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he meant Basham.
A decent report other than that.

If Leeds away was smash and grab last season...... then what the hell was that?

We defended brilliantly but I'm not particularly pleased with the approach or the performance today.

To win 2-0 at Goodison Park though, at this stage, is really a bit surreal. Not a ground I expected to win at, that's for sure.

We started slowly again today, definitely a theme emerging and needs to be changed when we come up against the better teams.

Great defensive performance and the back 3, Egan most of all were immense.

Not really a game where it was possible for McBurnie or Robinson to show anything and they didn’t at all.

Proper smash and grab but having missed easy chances last week an o.g. and a great pass and finish will do for me.

I don't think a victory by a two goal margin can ever really be described as a smash and grab to be honest.

Not for me anyway.

Smash and grabs are ragged, if we'd been clearing them off the line and seeing shots peppering our woodwork yeah, but not today. We were quite poor up top, but fantastic at the back, and we didn't pinch it with luck, that cross from Norwood was fantastic, and the through ball and finish from Lunny and Moose were pure quality.

Villa's game Vs Everton, that was more of a smash and grab, Everton were hitting the posts, bar, despairing saves, goal line clearances.

Richarlison looks good.

When I spoke to a friend who is an Everton seasonticket holder by Facetime last Tuesday, he was critical about Richarlison, I was surprised. Met him yesterday along with three other Everton fans in a pub near the crowd. I told them I always thought Richarlison looked good on MOTD but ALL of the 4 Everton fans were critical of him because they get fed up of him not doing simple things and is always wanting to run his own show. Saw three of the Everton fans again after the match and they asked him if I knew what they meant about Richarlison. I agreed that he isnt much of a team player.
