Everton linked with Sam Graham

They're a joke club at the moment. Unsworth has come out and said he wants the manager's job so if he doesn't get it, will the new bloke want someone at u23s who's openly stated he wants his job?

They've got loads of youth players who aren't progessing much, being thrown into the first team before they're ready. DCL looks like a little boy lost most of the time, Lookman hasn't improved at all, Davis and Holgate have gone backwards.

They're becoming a shit Chelsea. Chances are the new manager will bin most of these kids and play some blokes who know how to win matches, sending the kids out on loan.

I know it's hard for any kid to turn down the sort of money they'll offer him but he needs to think very hard about this move.

Just point the kid in the direction of Brooks, apply themselves and they can do the same they will develop much faster here than stuck in an Everton B team, anyway the way things are going we may well be swapping places come May 2018
Not just Brooks. Point him to ccv - a 19 year old playing regularly in the first team. I know he's not our player but it shows that if you are good enough CW will play you.

And Blackman.

i'd just point to Ross Barkley and say 'look what happened to him'..
edit; in fact maybe we could swap him for Barkley.. they don't seem to like him. i think he is potentially world class :) Everton are a bit of a career killer

I'm Not surprised at this if it's true? Most of the Prem teams following the Chelsea model by investing in promising talent, put them on a bid wage, lend them out and recoup some of the wage and if they develop, sell them on. The lad Izzy Brown is an example. On Chelsea's books, has played at Huddersfield and now Brighton
We have a very good Academy but when the big clubs come a calling with a big wage packet it is almost impossible to hold onto a promising youngster like Graham. Who knows, in a short time we may be in a position to follow suit, as I keep being told, its all just a business.
So should we let young Academy players go? I would never comment. It is simply down to the player, his parents and advisers and the club. They have all the facts but the wage packet will be the big temptation. Wish we could go back to the old days of loyalty to the club but I do not hold out any hope.

We are now in a much better position to tell Everton to p1ss off (than we were with DCL last season).
Are we though ?
From the sound of the prince's interview the sell on money from Maguire and walker just means they will have to put less in to cover losses
If we take the club at it's word the sales of youngsters has been more that they didn't want to stand in the way of players wanting to leave
Hopefully any prospects might want to stay and be a part of what's happening now but look over the city and see what happens when your first team isn't giving opportunities for the kids to feel a part of it

Yes, in two ways. We can afford to offer him a bit more than we could previously, if CW thinks it's worth it.
Secondly, we can potentially offer him championship football as soon as he's ready. That's a good level and will give him a chance to develop. That's now, we could potentially offer him PL football.
We've got stability and a united club, ideal for young players to learn and improve. It's more likely he'll get first team action with us, at the right time, than most PL clubs, including Everton.

But we won't be offering him £10k, a PL club might and that's always hard to turn down.

If he wants to go, and we can agree a price, we'll let him go, we've just got a bit more in our favour now than when we were in L1, that might just pursuade him to stay. As you say though, it still might not be enough.

so much agree with this

Wilder has it boxed off to perfection with the young lads, he is the one who decides who gets an offer and the offer is the same to them all since he took over. They all get offered the same wage to start off, all get offered 2 year pro with the option of a 3rd year if the club want to keep them. Very astute from Mr Wilder if a big club comes calling he invokes the extension clause and bumps up the transfer fee if their not good enough he releases them. If they start to perform like Brooksey has a new deal gets negotiated the player wins and the club wins as he either stays at the club or moves for a bigger fee Win Win all round very clever cookie is our Chris!!

Can't see a problem here, sell him for daft money and then put it towards buying CCV who's a far better player than Graham.

Keep all the youngsters.

If wilder can turn journey men into world beaters, think what he can do when he gets them from the start of their careers.

Fuck Everton.

They're obsessively stockpiling youngsters with no real purpose.

Maybe they should focus on developing the many young players who are already there?

Having watched Kenny yesterday, I'm not surprised they're looking to other team's youth players

See Graham as a future 1st team player, only a year younger than CCV with same physics, still raw but one for the future. CCV will return to spurs.

That's the problem when you're doing very well in the championship.
The vultures from up above come calling.
Do all you can to hold on to your players. Losing just one could start off something bad.

So now we have rumours about Chris Wilder and certain other players being targetted. You know what? After almost six years of dross fighting relegation, being stuck in the Third Division and having a succession of shite managers, I don't recall anybody chasing after most of our staff, because they were mostly crap. Being successful - and having some highly-talented individuals at the club - means it's inevitable that interest will be aroused. But Everton? Nobody knows who the next manager will be, sold their best player (Lukaku) and no chance of replacing him, won nothing in 22 years and permanently in Liverpool's shadow.

Sam Graham was 17 in August. CCV is 20 in a couple of weeks.

Graham has nearly 3 years to get to CCVs age which makes him an even bigger prospect.

Apart from CCV being miles better than him at present...

They probably think the can just dangle a Million pounds infront of us and we will snap their hands of like we did with DCL.
Yeah we're not the Kenny McCormick of football anymore.
Thinks 'and somehow Sheffield United have been relegated/lost the penalty shoot out/ missed out on automatics/the play offs. Oh my god they killed Sheffield United!'
'You bastards.'

Of course CCV is miles better than Graham at present. FFS do think I am stupid.

I was pointing out that Graham is almost 3 years younger than CCV as apposed to a year younger.

I don't think Spurs want to sell CCV. I thought Graham looked a very good prospect when I saw him.
