Forget exactly when but I was about 8 so in and around 1988.
We were playing Weeds away & my dad went. Leaving me with my pig supporting uncles.
I bought a Blades badge outside & sat on their Kop listening to our game on my Walkman!! We lost, they cheered all the goals against us but at least my dad was proud of me haha

Also got free tickets a few years later through Sunday league football, leppings lane end & went with a load of others in Blades shirts under our coats.... took our coats off soon as we went in!!

Anyone else been unfortunate enough??

Used to be forced to go by my Dad ;) but saw the light. I remember seeing Bronco Layne scoring a hat trick in an Inter Cities Fairs cup game v Ujpest Doza i think. Oh well ,you learn don't you!

About 25 times over the past 4 seasons. All part of the corporate entertaining requirement of my job. :-/

Plenty of times but hardly seen any action. A mate used to have a box and sponsor the odd match. I spent most if not all the games propping up the bar (with the exception of the Palace game that sent them down). He sponsored a pre season friendly after they had won the league one play off. I refused to touch the trophy or have my photograph taken on the pitch. At the end of the game I won a competition for guessing the nearest to the attendance and asked to come and collect my signed ball prize. I promptly told the compère to keep it as I wasn't interested. The free beer was my only interest

My first ever game was Northern Ireland v Bulgaria in WC Qualifier in 1973, played at Hillsborough as they couldn't play in Belfast. Apparently it was 0-0 with a crowd of 6292, I just remember it being foggy

My dad took me when I was a kid because he had a friend over who wanted to take in a local game. Bad choice of weekend... And all I remember is some fighting with visiting forest fans.

Went again for the same reason a few years later in the fat racist era. Bloody good job I know which side my bread was buttered at an early age.

Got dragged there kicking & screaming in 1976 in vain attempt by the old fella who was a pig fan to introduce me to the dark side , thankfully the force was strong in this young blade with help from his 3 Jedi brothers .
Also went to oinks vs Leicester 3 years ago through family connections & met up with a few Leicester lads I know for a pint or 8 , obvs in Leppimgs Lane , Leicester won 2-0 so ensured a good day out :):):)

Played for Sheffield schoolboys in 1973 against one of their junior teams. Had to change in their dressing room and then transported up to Middlewood.

Went to Stoke v West Ham league cup semi final in 1972.

went a few years ago to watch them play Leicester with a few mates was sat in away end me and 2 others couldn't resist singing a few blades songs at the resident pigs and wednesday lost 2-0 which made it even better

Yes had a walk on the dark side, went with a couple of grunters early 70's they had a bar under the sty end, a yard of ale drinking contest and a comedian forgot name remember you wanted something to eat there was rat in a basket etc HAMburger. There was a wild western saloon bar doors, not sure if that was way to piss house or what. OK admit Blades did not play on that day my reward cannot remember game but got drenched, forgot the pig end had no roof.

Ian Bowyer you beauty. Wonderful celebrating with my Blade mates on their Kop at the end whilst they were crying their eyes out. Just looked it up, 44k there that night.
Was at that game on the Kop with plenty of Blades. Remember celebrating after in the pelting rain. Great night. Also went a few times in the early 70's in crowds of 6/7/8000 in a 60000 stadium. Was at a game, think it was Bristol Rovers, called off 20 minutes from end. There was about 2/3000 in the ground although the attendance was shown at just under 5000.

Went when they played Pompey 0-0, got challenged by pigs on the cantilever stand, pig stood up and shouted Pompey or what, to which I replied in my broad Yorkshire accent, sit darn you sad fucker, which he promptly did, l was also on their kop to see a 3-3 draw with chezzy, I only went to see Geoff salmons score, oh and that game in 79, not been since to the shit hole.

When I started following football in January 1970, my dad would take me to either Saltergate or to S6 if we werent able to go to a Blades away match. Saw the League Cup semi final replay between Stoke and West Ham at S6 also when Santos and Pele were there

No. Why would I want to watch any other team than the mighty blades!!??

I only went once, as a youngster, with my best mate who, misguidedly, was an Owl. Derek Dooley was playing. He had a quiet game - only scored a hat-trick that day.

I repaid the compliment by dragging my mate to Bramall Lane when the Blades played the Owls. We won 7 - 3. Very satisfying. My mate probably still bears the scars.

I went to see Leicester play them too. I actually went on my own in the away end! They had Bassett as assistant manager, Mickey Adams as manager and Deane was in their squad too then, but sadly he didn't play. Leicester won that they too, it was in the league cup but can't remember the year. Probably 2003-2003.

Also went to see Chesterfield there. Again went on my own in the away end (sad maybe but I enjoyed it!)! They had Wayne Allison up front and I just fancied singing CHIEEEEF one more time! It was a 2 - 2 draw I think. Been a couple of other times with mates of other clubs so all in all I've been about 6 times in the away end with other teams! And obviously watched United there a few times too.

Euros to see the Danes, can't remember who they played. Never felt clean since.,

Saw Croatia beat the Danes there. Croatia were awesome... Boban, Suker, Prosineki etc fantastic footballers playing with freedom, I'd never ever seen football that good before. Suker nearly chipped Schmiechel from the half way line.

We sat with the Croatian fans who were complete nutters... drunk and looked as if they'd just stepped out of the war in the Balkans. They all started chanting 'Sheffield United' at one point ... which put the icing on the cake

Always love to hear from people who had the privilege of going to that game. Do you remember much about it? Should Fred have stuck the penalty away to make it 8-3 ?

Stood on their Kop twice to see Everton in 80's. First was the league game Everton won 1-0 and Southall made the wonder save from Varadi. 2nd was a cup replay game in 1988 which Everton were 5-0 up at half time :)

If you were in the school footy team you sometimes got free tickets can't ever remember using them though. Once went with a kid we knew from Newcastle, a boring 0-0 must have been 66-67 when they had the Arsenal kit in blue. Went to the Stoke v Arsenal semi final on the kop with the Arsenal fans.
