Re. Who plays - I know that a few are attempting to find positions for the new players, but in case anyone has failed to notice, Wilder will pick what he considers to be his strongest team. Given how close our first game is, there's not much time for the new signings to impress, but I'm sure that if one, possibly two, look head and shoulders above more established names, well I guess we may see them make their entry. What I can guarantee is that these new signings will be the exact incentive that Wilder had hoped for. I just hope this suggests we can look forward to a good, if not great, team performance.

I see that one of the new guys, Lowe I think, already commented on the superior training session they took part in. That's good to hear, and they'll now have some idea of what it means to play in a Chris Wilder team.

Now more than ever football is a squad game, not just about who your best 11 are. With games coming thick and fast due to the shortened season and the high energy with which we like to play it is going to nigh on impossible for our starting 11 to play every minute of every game and still play with the same intensity. And that doesn't take into account any injuries.

So it's not going to be a case of who misses out so the new lads can play. I think there'll be a fair bit more rotation this year now that Wilder has the competition for places he wants.

I’m very happy about this and the other ones. Not seen much of any of them but youth, mobility, skill and room for improvement in them all seems to be the theme.

Don’t get pulled into his bullshit bud, he’s a banned poster who loves a reaction, and it has nothing to do with drink driving.
Creates a new account so he can keep posting despite not being able to stick to the rules.

Please tell me when I was banned and what rules I have broken
This new account I have created was in 2011 quite recent dont you think
It most certainly has to do with drink driving

Sometimes the weight of expectation can raise hopes to levels that rarely come true, but from the little I've seen of these new signings the more I hope that we've given ourselves the type of defensive strength in depth that we've rarely had in my time following United. I know there's a clamour for genuine attacking threat, and I too would love to see new recruits who seem to be on a par with the new defenders.

Looking at Ampadu we seem have secured a player who understands the defensive duties of the game, so we have someone who takes responsibility, who'll tackle or head the ball, who'll organise, and when the opportunity calls he has the capability to bring the ball forward and use the ball constructively. The fact that he's rated by so many at Chelsea is testament to this loan signing, and given what I expect will be an equally tough season, the fact that we have this level of defensive cover should serve us well in the months ahead.

Naturally I cannot wait to see all the new signings perform. They'll need our patience, no doubt each of them will want to impress as soon as they're given the chance, but for myself I'll look and consider. I've great faith in the type of player that Wilder brings to this club, and although it's far too early to make any concrete proclamations we could be heading into a new and exciting phase of football for the Blades. Time will tell of course, first we have to earn the right to stay in this division, and this is where firepower will make the difference to what we all hope for. Again, that's where we have to rely on Wilder's eye for the type of player that he see's as right for this club. Money and a willingness to want to play for United will go a long way in determining who Wilder bring's in, so patience will be needed by each and every one of us.

I was told back in May we were getting a young un from Chelsea. I didn't expect someone as highly rated and after more than three months passed thought it might have been bullshit. I guess the young lass had it spot on.

Excellent thread from Blades Analytics, with links mostly to parts of his games with Wales, that highlights exactly what he brings to us. He will be a great addition hopefully to our current system, in a number of roles, and also gives us the flexibility to tweak the formation mid-game.

This young un from Chelsea would be a good un too

Really good video here against Spurs in the CL last season. Ran the game and was the best player on the pitch.

Am I missing something here, I'm really not sure which bit of that video I'm supposed to be really impressed by?
Range of passing, ability to play out the back, Ambipedal, Easy reader of the game. And at the age of 18 imposed himself against Spurs in the Champions league while playing for one of the best coaches in europe in a 3 at the back formation. ;)

Perhaps not the best video to showcase his talents. This one is a bit better I think.

Yeah let's ignore the errors in the video because he can pass it short and long (sometimes)

Watching the videos looks impressive but I’ve seen home before and I thought lightweight, think he’s a player for certain games but definitely not against the likes of Burnley etc

I could make myself look like a premier league standard player in a 3 minute video so it's not a great way of judging talent

Interesting there’s not been any of the behind the blades vids put out for these transfers as per usual and the interviews for all 3 and wilder were very short. I thought they were waiting to announce Ampadu and then they’d put one all encompassing one out today but the fact they haven’t done suggests maybe they’re waiting for Burke?

I love this paragraph from Wilder yesterday, it's looks like a definate dig at Dean Smith.
"We've got a clear plan and identification of what we need and we're still going through that process. We're not just signing players because other people are in for them, we're signing these players because they fit into what we are about".

I'm definitely not one of these negative Nancy's who mercilessly prowl this message board, but he doesn't look a great header of the ball. He also looks very lightweight and small for a centre half.

On the other hand, he looks so composed on the ball, comfortable with both feet and has a range of passing. Seems a clever player, and could potentially be wasted at CB.

Anyway, what the fuck do i know. In CWAK we trust.
