'Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed Ethan Ampadu is set to leave the club on loan this summer and has not travelled with the squad to Japan. #CFC'

Option for 1 of our 2 loans? Good young player thats defensive minded which would be good for away games. Fleck and Norwood lack that defensive game and height in CM.
Good call

Of Ampadu, Wilder commented: "Ethan is an outstanding young player for Chelsea, and we've worked really hard to get his signature for the season.

"We need to thank Frank Lampard and the people at Chelsea for helping making this happen. We've got a good relationship with them and they know we're going to take good care of him.

"It's an important season for Ethan and playing in the Premier League for us is a good move for everyone. He brings a lot of qualities to the group and he's someone we've tracked for two or three seasons."

Frank Lampard commented on the deal: “This is a great deal for all parties. I know from having played against Nick Montgomery that this club traditionally produces some of the toughest footballers a player can face, and ‘Monty’ was certainly the toughest I ever faced in my playing career. I’m confident that Ethan is in good hands.”

Can someone tell me why during lockdown I had to wait 3months to have a hair cut but our Ampadu had his dreadlocks chopped? ;)

Whilst you might and whether I agree or disagree, not everybody else has too. If you don't like certain things people post, you can feel free to block them.
Don’t get pulled into his bullshit bud, he’s a banned poster who loves a reaction, and it has nothing to do with drink driving.
Creates a new account so he can keep posting despite not being able to stick to the rules.

Is he actually going to take a squad place up? He’s under 21, right? Does that count for loans? It’d be good if he didn’t!

Got to say I'm a bit surprised about this signing. Who's he replacing as I dont think he's come to sit on the bench? You'd think it would be Norwood but I thought Berge was his eventual replacement. No doubt he's a good player but if we need cover at CB then buy or loan a CB. I'm aware he's played CB for Wales but think his natural position is as a defensive midfielder.

I think the same....good player with an excellent future....he’s really versatile and will be great cover for loads of positions
BUT I doubt he’s come here expecting to be cover....so who drops out?

We‘ve strengthened all over the place defensively but what about our attacking options?

So where do you put him and who drops out?

He's not replacing JOC because he doesn't play on that side as far as I know.

Bash seems to be the one most likely to be subbed off, despite him being player of the season and generally amazing.

Norwood got subbed off more towards the end of the season too.

this kid can play RCB , CCB , DMF , RMF.
he covers Bash Egan Norwood Berge
hasn't Berge just picked up a knee injury ?
be interesting to see if CW reverts to Lunny or goes with Bogle or Ampadu.
the theme of today's signings appears to be YOUNG & VERSATILE , same applies to Burke if he replaces Calum Robinson
A GREAT STRATEGY , makes the squad so much more resilient to player absences
CW has decided we cant afford a repeat of our post-lockdown blues when we fell apart coz a couple of key players were out.
what a manager we have - sees the problems and fixes them within budget.
and the bonus is neither Bogle nor Ampadu count to the 25 , so we've scope to add more - still got a PL loan left and 2 foreigns
