Well that's the reason we did it and I can't believe the OS didn't. We had our trusty but ancient mp3 player and a mic we didn't know was going to work properly :D But I know from some of our other exiles that they appreciate being kept in touch and it's a nice thing to do.

Cheers... but we do talk a load of rubbish. Like I've said elsewhere, anything goes but personal abuse to other members. Calling someone a "dickhead" doesn't really further the discussion and I tend to start spanking bums when that happens :D

Cheers... we wouldn't do it if we had to censor as much as BU did though. We frankly haven't got the time or energy to babysit! :)

We are a friendly bunch, and we still talk rubbish.

We don't all agree but we can still be friends without stuff getting out of hand.

We have seemed to find a way to keep the banter a little more friendly than most forums.

We meet up at matches and play footy on a Sunday etc...

We are optomistic pessamistic suicidal Blades!

I think that covers it!

We like to ensure people post in a way that EVERYONE can read their views.

We have a large number of visitors from abroad (both exiled blades and foreign members) and therefore ask that we stay away from textspeak and the like.

The odd spelling mistake is fair enough and goes without 25 members of the grammar and spelling police jumping on you ;)

It's also worth noting, you can edit your posts here!

I like a good debate, but i often found BladesUnited quite cliquey. Seemed like some posters were just waiting to jump down each other's throats all the time, and that you had to be labelled as "clapper" or "warnocker" (in Neil's time).

I think we prefer a little humour, dark at times, to relieve the tension.

Shouting at each other will never change what happens at The Lane.

I think there's a a myriad of opinion on here and things don't tend to be as black or white as they were on BU... the only thing we agree on is beer, and lots of it :D

(Although Bert is here now, so it might have to be fine chianti)
 
I found that on BU, if you weren't a regular contributor, they didn't want to know you, or reply to your posts :thumbdown:

We have people come and go... we have people on here we've met and others we haven't. I wasn't part of any clique on BU and I'd like to think that a clique doesn't exist on here. We all meet at the Golden Lion pub before matches (although with the recent forum extension, they would have to build a bigger bar) and regardless of how happy you are with the Blades or not, we always say that everyone is welcome to come and say hello and have a pint.

We don't even make them get a round in! :D
 



I might come then if someone else is buying and i don't have to get a round in! :)

I wasn't a member of BU but have posted on footy mad quite a few times, I'm going to put this site in my FAVS as I looked on here a few times but never posted before.

Bladesunited has been registered for 10 years and 17 days as of today. Dogs don't even die that early!
 
I think it'd be easier to welcome everyone in this thread than go through the others individually! So welcome all newcomers, always read BU but preferred to post here!

On that note, most phones will access this place fine, but I'm also working on a dedicated mobile version which will be displayed automatically on access from a mobile device.
 
Well, there I was just home and nipped on BU to see if anything interesting had happened, and next thing i'm in an episode of 'Lost'.

Anyway, I see a few have made it here and a few onto the alternative. I kind of like the idea of being able to post without having to read the s wearing, and the pigfans coming on with their fantastic 'you're crap, we're no' threads, so if you'll have me, I'll hang out here for a while and see how it goes...

Welcome to the forum, we do pride ourselves on being different to the alternatives... So hopefully, you'll like the way we do things around here :)

We do allow members who are fans of other teams, but only provided they are coming on to be constructive/sensible... You'll not see any of the mudslinging crap that you get elsewhere.
 



Any chance anyone can get in touch with Deadbat, Bergen, Silent & Darren? Always seemed decent posters.
