Seriously, when did we become such an entitled fanbase? Literally every time we don't win now we get a forum full of hysterical posts.

We're second in the Championship with half a dozen games left. Most people would have settled for the playoffs this season.

These entitled hissy fits are getting a bit embarrassing now. Fans from other clubs looking at this forum must think we have such a poor fanbase.

Lets not even mention shoutbox....

If wanting to see a good performance against let’s be honest.. an inferior opponent makes me entitled, I’ll be that. How many away performances have we had that’s been decent? 2.. 3? Fully accept it’s the points that count. But when we constantly aim to get a goal, sit back and defend it, it’s entirely our fault/infuriating when it bites us on the arse.

(Perfectly fair) Criticisms about many of the performances are perfectly justified but this isn't that.

Can take a loss.

Cannot take a lack of effort and desire.

If the players think they can be entitled to just rock up and 3 points be given to them, they you cannot blame fans for also being entitled.

We're not entitled to anything but based on the fact that we are second in the Championship with half a dozen games left, the expectation is that everyone should be capable of better than that shit performance today. Play half-decent and lose, fine, but barely laying a glove on a struggling team that didn't have to get out of second gear to win is disappointing.

Looking through shoutbox and the threads in the forum, all the complaints are about the poor performance, not the result, the only obvious hissy fit is this thread slagging off other fans.

And the majority of comments were coming before we were even losing.

It was plainly obvious 10 mins in we weren't up for it

Was at the game today nearly came to blows with some so called fan who thought it acceptable to give the wanker sign when the players came across to applaud the fans. We are second in the league

Agree…don’t think most of them are actually proper Blades. It’s the fashion of “everyone look at me” with my faux outrage.

Wonder what a psychologist would make of this attention seeking and angry phenomena.
I’ve wonder whether it’s related to lifetime frustrations and personal resentments.
There’s a pent up anger regards the life they live, so they need an outlet to let off some steam.

So when we loose they attack the club, when Brester misses a chance they shout abuse at Brewster, it relieves their inner tension so they feel better.
But the football is just a red herring, he’s just a scapegoat….their real anger is elsewhere.

However think some of the criticism is valid….this season reminds me a bit of our promotion season under Hecky.
Under Hecky we had spells of playing good football and we over reliant on N’Diaye like we were a 1 man team.
However under Hecky in the same game there were spells where we couldn’t string 3 passes together and it was long ball hoof.
Also under Hecky didn’t matter who we played we always sat deep and parked the bus for the last 20 mins when we were leading.

It’s sometimes similar with Wilder. We often start matches slowly and can be negative but it’s working, we win loads of games, so can’t complain really.

And why the fuck wouldn’t they be is the question?

It’s like somebody running the London Marathon - getting to the 24 mile point then thinking fuck it, I’m bailing, I can’t be arsed.

Surely It is somebody’s job to ensure that dosent happen?

You see this a lot….players believing their own hype…..everyone commented how the Coventry game was possibly our best performance of the season.
Confidence is growing and all the players would have been supremely confident of beating Oxford.
They had a game plan of playing percentage football, lumping it into the box as much as possible and hoping for the knockdowns to fall to them.
We managed to clear virtually everything but eventually they had some luck and a knock down fell to their player to score an easy goal.

Watching the game thought we looked like a poor PL side who didn’t seem up for it.
Whereas Oxford looked like a really good league 1 side fighting for their lives. They deserved to be leading 1-0 at half-time.

We upped the intensity 2nd half and played much better but they always had loads of men back defending, so it was tough.
We probably deserved a draw in the end, however it looked like we were hoping for a piece of luck to score but it never came.

See the thread I've just started.

Cos I'm such a MASSIVE Blade obvs.

The sense of entitlement by some on here is off the scale. I'm old enough to remember when Oxford were a lot better than we were and came to the Lane, and won 2-1, and I think went on to win the old 3rd Division title.

Never forget your history.

One game lost (disappointing granted), and some on here can't wait to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

When were spending millions and millions of pounds on players and our wage bill dwarfs that of most teams in the league, fans are entitled to be pissed off when a team assembled for peanuts deservedly beats us

We're 2nd for now ... We'll clearly lose to Burnley, so just one more of those type of performances and it's likely we're in the playoffs

Love how you say see the thread you just started when your complaint in that thread is too many threads of people moaning, but instead of just replying to this one from last night, you're so entitled that you needed one of your own to moan about your fellow fans.

Well it’s the present day now and yday was a great opportunity to put a bigger gap between us and Leeds, playing a very poor side. It’s not entitlement, it’s expectation that we should beat a team that cost less than the fee for cannon.

All clubs fanbases are entitled. Always were and will be forever.

It's what makes the game great, opinions, highs and lows, dreams of success etc.

Virtue signalling posting is just pathetic.
Not virtue signalling to call out those who say derogatory things about other clubs because they aren't as wealthy as us or about the players/manager because we lose one game.

Eh?

I'm not moaning about how many threads there are, I just wanted a section where the perpetual doom sayers and habitual moaners can hang out.

We are all entitled (😁) to a moan now again. Following a football team is generally average with the odd variation from that.

My point is that those who want to moan all the time, can have their own section to do it in.

They'll be happy then.

And I'm a long way from entitled.

Thing is there are important games both ends of the division . But that does not excuse bad tactics lack off effort . That’s down to the players / manager . Let’s hope it’s the blip we needed to get out of the way .

It’s a long “blip” when it’s how we play most games away from home though.

What is the point in sport if its predictable and uncompetitive. Surely it's why it's compelling , frustrating , glorious all at the same time .
Isn't it why many prefer the championship, the fact that most teams can beat most ( on thier day) .
You perform and have some luck you win, you underperform or don't get the rub of the green you lose , sometimes you do everything you could and still lose . Its how it should be .

Nothing wrong with analysing the performance after a loss , it's not entitlement just looking at what didn't work. Admittedly it's no excuse excuse to throw the toys either.

Yesterday wasn't our day , we have them , heroes to villains in one afternoon , hopefully reversed back on Tuesday .

Oh great another thread about entitled fans.
It's their way of deflecting blame away from their preshy weshy Yooonited and preshy weshy one of our own Wilder

The fans that made the trip put a hundred times more effort into yesterday than anyone else connected to the club, especially considering some of them will have worked a night shift on Friday, and some will be at work today

They have a right to watch a team that is at the very least making an effort to try to win, instead of only trying to wake up after we go 1-0 down

If Oxford had not scored when they did the second half would have been as slow, boring, turgid and mindnumbing as the first half

We might then have got a result, but FFS who wants this shit almost every game ?

The stadium absolutely cannot sell out no matter what position the club is in, or how vitally important and massive the game is

The stadium is also silent, no matter how important the game is, something that would never have happened in previous years

If that doesn't tell the owners anything they are as stupid as the team and Wilder

All those deriding Oxford's squad because of how little it cost going to be happy to get beaten regularly if we go up next season then?
Precisely, feels like some of the comments about our squad that were aimed at us by the premier league fans last season are now being hurled at the lesser championship teams by our own fans.

This team is crap because they haven't spent x amount of money on it, or because they've still got some of their league 1 players, etc.

Fans should give Oxford some credit for yesterday, while we didn't play well they did, got the win and deserved all three points.

That being said, the amount of comments in the shoutbox yesterday about how we've bottled the autos because we're losing to Oxford (this was before FT) was ridiculous, losing 1 game and shoutbox made it feel like we were having a Leeds style bottle job.

Wow, a lot of angry people because we lost a game. We were out fought and we could not adapt our game plan to suit their tactics. It was like an FA cup final for them. There comments show how pumped up they were for this game. A bit disappointed in Wilder for not being a bit more proactive to counter their tactics. Holding should have started, his defensive heading ability was needed. One or two of our stars had an off day. O'hare should have come on earlier he works much better with Hamer in a "crowded" pitch game. I think the pitch was smaller than Luton's. We had no width to be able to maraude down the wings. JR, Femi and HB had no room to work in crosses. Why bring on JR when he did?
Anyway, the pitch, the style, the tactics, the total commitment by OU players undid us. Their goalie MoM. Out thought and outfought. Bad day at the office, I'm not despondent, it happens. I will point the finger at Wilder for not anticipating this and setting up, preparing correctly, and then not reacting quickly or appropriately at the time.
I think we will bounce back quickly, after the euphoria of Cov game, a bit of a bump back to earth. Not such a bad thing to make us realise we can't walk the last 5 or 6 games.
A final question, do the players really want promotion? The pain of last season may still be raw, and a few may lose their position if we go up? And i think yesterday demonstrated we are no way EPL ready. If we can't beat OU, how do you think we will cope next year?
We are in a much better place than anyone could have dreamed a year ago. Be grateful for that. Better times ahead hopefully, but still a lot of work to do.
