Last season was atrocious - heart of a mouse- but I think the kid has got all the attributes to be top notch, would not be surprised to see him do very well somewhere else. Season before last was truly excellent, last ditch tackling was superb, romping forward class, but last season I think he let his head drop because what was around him was hopeless. Lets face it, the whole team lacked quality but that defence was shite.

Possibly. Lunny was certainly liked before he decided to down tools, but Anel was really loved when he first got here. Those long mazy runs from CB were great to watch and it felt like he had all the makings of being a cult hero to us all. Then came the decline...

I suspect he never cared about club (and why should he) Probably from day he arrived he always saw us a stepping stone to a better premier league club - when he saw lack of investment and sell best 2 players he knew writing was on the wall for staying in premier league with us and less chance of moving to a higher premier league club too that went with it. The fact he chose to sulk doesn’t help him though with his future plans in England I reckon

I think that’s probably right, regarding his apparent demotivation this season. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and initially put it down to glandular fever recovery, but I think your explanation is the more likely.
I think he has considerable potential in terms of ability, but his attitude this season has been a disgrace, and won’t have gone unnoticed by potential suitors. A pity, because I hope we sell him. He has let us down.

He is a talented player at a club with zero ambition that he has no real affinity for, its understandable that his head has dropped this season.
