why would he want it? Maybe in 15-20 yrs yes, but right now he's at home. The England managers job us fucked, as no matter how good the manager is he only has a finite amount of players and most, if not all are over paid knob jockeys who are only interested in their club careers, cars and fanny.

I’ve always queried why the national managers job is full time.
Theoretically speaking it could be done by a club manager IMHO.

It’s not as if they have to go out and watch matches these days with the technology available, and half the side picks itself due to the lack of options. The England manager simply has to have the ability to find players to play the way he wants, and have the ability to motivate the players he has or replace the ones not working their bollocks off for their country.

What for example is Southgate doing now? Or Coleman...Scots manager?

I think the time has arrived for Scotland or Wales to try appointing a top club manager to do both jobs and see how it goes. Certainly seeing as most of their players are outside the premier league. Coutts and Fleck would both be in the jock side for sure.

When I was younger I managed both Sheff Utd and England on football manager so if anyone tells you it can’t be done they’re talking bollocks pal.

As others have said why would he? It's a poisoned chalice and has spoiled many a career over the years. There is little pride in the shirt anymore, he has that with his squad here.
