Hypothetically speaking....

If we bomb at next year's WC and the Blades finish PO's OR...praise the Lord...we get promoted...

Could Wilder do a job as the next England manager?

I know I am bias but I genuinely think he's one of only a few that could ignite the passion amongst the England fans again and hopefully mean that Fat Wolves Tango Twat won't ever appear again.

No no no. He’s ours. England will not ever be good no matter who manages them and whoever does manage them will be outed for not performing.

I’ve always queried why the national managers job is full time.
Theoretically speaking it could be done by a club manager IMHO.

It’s not as if they have to go out and watch matches these days with the technology available, and half the side picks itself due to the lack of options. The England manager simply has to have the ability to find players to play the way he wants, and have the ability to motivate the players he has or replace the ones not working their bollocks off for their country.

What for example is Southgate doing now? Or Coleman...Scots manager?

I think the time has arrived for Scotland or Wales to try appointing a top club manager to do both jobs and see how it goes. Certainly seeing as most of their players are outside the premier league. Coutts and Fleck would both be in the jock side for sure.

England would never take a lower league manager who'd had minimal premier league experience.

People like Eddie Gray would be way ahead.

No he's ours and you sound like a Wendy with this shite.

He's a thick lad from Sheffield with a dodgy accent riding his luck, he's lucky to be here never mind the England job.

PS Dear FA the above statement is true and that also goes to all them Premier league clubs anall, he's a wrong un trust me.

You're not biased, you're mad.

1. It would never happen (see above posted reasons)

2. Nobody on this site ever wants to hear this kind of shite.

No offence.

I agree with the part time thing, full time would be better but Wilder could probably do more in half an hour with the England squad than Southgate could do in a lifetime.
Here's the stumbling block, he doesn't take shit and the FA like yes men.

Theoretically yes. He plays attacking, attractive football, knows how to get the best out of players and is prepared to change the system if it’s not working which sets him apart from every England manager of the past 20 years.

Realistically though he’d be a long way down the pecking order. Dyche and Howe are the ones they should be looking at as established Prem managers. Whether they would want it is another matter.

I really wouldn’t worry about Wilder leaving.

I think it’s more the case that being a club manager is such a massive task and doesn’t allow time for much else.

Chill your bollocks lads it's a hypothetical situation. I'm not worried about him leaving neither am I advocating it.

I just think he could do a job if he decided it was for him and the FA obliged. It's what England fans would want to see IMO..someone with a bit of identity and connection with the fans, someone who could unite the fans again and get the best out of the players as there's very little coaching needed.

Be England manager. Have over paid prema-donas forced upon you. Have 3 weeks to work your magic, 4 times a year.

Doesn't sound like a Wilder situation does it?

I'd like to see wilder managing an England B team at the end of this season. Players picked from Championship and L1.
End of season game at Wembley against England A team.
He'd tear them a new one.

Yeah but he's bound to catch Brazil and Germany on an off day and they would make England look good.

why would he want it? Maybe in 15-20 yrs yes, but right now he's at home. The England managers job us fucked, as no matter how good the manager is he only has a finite amount of players and most, if not all are over paid knob jockeys who are only interested in their club careers, cars and fanny.

i think the problem is the other way around. they never pick a good manager. good managers tend to have personalities and won't take crap off the old duffers at the FA

never? would you say so??
bobby Robson, Kevin Keegan, sven, capello? Even Hodgson has managed Milan, non of these are good managers?
ill give you maclaren, southgate although unproven i think will flop.
but we have had some good experienced people in there, you can polish a turd.

not a cat in hells chance
when have England ever employed someone who was currently doing well

Clough as an example , no one better 10 years either side of him
went for Joe Mercer Don I love arab money Revie and Ron Greenwood

Plus he hasnt sucked up to any FA board members
The fa have no clue on who to pick

Watching Duffy's performance yesterday and thought he's exactly what England need. Someone to orchestrate the raw headless chickens like Rashford, Sterling and Chamberlain. He's a scouse David Silva!

But would the chairman of a club be happy to be paying a manager alot of money for him to not focus on just his club? I'm afraid in this day and age money talks.
