Enda Stevens crossing is terrible,he hits the first man,too long etc,he gets himself into good positions but can’t put a decent ball in.
This hasn’t improved from last season and it’s very frustrating.

I don't like to see any player scapegoated but we need competition in every position and given Stevens is never dropped then that tells you that the back up isn't good enough, especially when we know Stevens isn't un-dropable.

I second that. I don’t rate him but today he was a steady 7/10. Don’t think his man beat him and he’s finally grew some bollocks to put a ball in the box. If he did that more often and decided to run at the full back then maybe my opinion would change. Think he knows that because we’re after a left wing back he’s actually got some competition because Lafferty is hopeless.

Not a big fan of him but he did ok today same at QPR
 
Good game today from Enda. Really obvious that he's taken something onboard from the coaching staff because he's more varied in his crossing, gets them in early too sometimes which was about as rare a thing as you could ever see watching United lately. Also seemed to be making sure he's good to go defensively before running off down the wing to me.

Hope it continues.
 
His crossing is one thing but now and again I would like him to be actually in position defesively. The majority of goals conceded come down our left.

No ones upset. I don’t think he’s good enough and I’ve been vocal about that, but he was great today.

The goal came from the left side of defence maybe but he wasn’t involved. His delivery has to get better though.

Bugger me, talk about a game of opinions but me and my mates thought he and Fleck were our most effective players in the first half.

In the second Billy, Norwood and Leon stepped up definitely but I still think Freeman earned his money .

Maybe it's just me

Agree, I thought Freeman was decent too, put some peach balls into the box and defended well against Hernandez.

My post was for the sake of balance. People tend to get a bee under their bonnet and the blinkers get fixed. Stevens played well today.

Even at your age you're still able to partake of immense amounts of beer or soft drugs. Impressive. Other than what you think you've seen....... :rolleyes:
 
Stevens has had quite a few marks of 3 to 4, but for the whole of last season he probably averaged 5 to 6.

Today was probably a 7, perhaps 7.5, but he needs many more 7's and some 8's and the occasional 9 wouldn't go amiss from a position that is vitally important to us as a team.

As for freeman - P2, W2 this season. WE play with Wing backs which freeman is, where as Baldock is more of a full back who tries to play wing back.

Baldock would not have got in the position to feed Billy last week at QPR either. Baldock is far from a poor player, but we need more quality in and around the opposition box.

As the thread is about Stevens - just keep it up lad - we need more 7 out of 10's.

He had a decent game today for me. If his final ball was a bit better he would have been looking at a couple of assists. He was unlucky that no one got on the end of the lovely low ball across the 6 in the second half.

Thought he had a couple of really nice moments in the second half though where he won the ball back and looked to get things moving.

Well done to the lad.

Not bad, better than the first two games and half last season, but he's one we can improve on. I think maybe the obvious bollockings he's had from CW during the game and the fact that young Nosher is still here lurking in the wings has made him realise that unless he delivers in more sense than one he might just lose his cushy number.
