So, I'm in our local Bar having a drink and some tapas with our lass this afternoon and this loudmouth bloke is on his mobile talking to his mate in Majorca (I know this because I can hear everything he's saying!) and he's asking his mate to set up a suitable location in Majorca for Paul Cook (Portsmouth FC Manger) and Eamon Collins (football agent and ex player) to have a meeting to discuss new signings!
"Yes, they just been promoted and they need some new players..."
However, his 'mate' who's with him, who kept disappearing to talk on his mobile;
"Oh he's on his phone selling a player...."

So I'm thinking:
1. Loudmouth gobshite
2. Fucking scum of the earth football agents
3. Is he talking about Enda Stevens!!!!

If only I could have heard the other conversation!!!!:(

Should have took his phone off him, dropped it in his beer and told the ignorant cunt not to not use his phone in a bar/restaurant.

Off to the twats section with him.

Because there's a lot more to spend your money on and it's a good place to live if you're rich, which championship players usually are. That's why I say if he chose QPR over us, because it was in London, we wouldn't want him. We want players who want to train hard and succeed, not spend their time in Mayfair clubs with plastic-titted models.

Mayfair clubs with plastic-titted models or Reflex?

Ummmmmm?

From reading the the stir it seems like it's not going happen. They seem to getting a story out saying he wanted to much and wouldn't fit in with the United system. "We move on will be heard today or tomorrow "

Doesn't seem that way to me... yet.

Stevens had been expected to join United last week but, despite reportedly informing Portsmouth he wants to join United, a series of logistical issues - including the League Two title-winners end-of-season trip to Marbella - have delayed the progress of those talks.

Who says he wouldn't fit the system?
If it's the Star we don't need them making excuses for why he hasn't signed...if indeed that is the case.
If he chooses elsewhere fine...we move on. It's not like he's the second coming of Currie...he's a full back for christ sake.

We say..." he chose to go elsewhere, his loss someone else's benefit" then follow it up with..."we want players who want to be part of something special, he chose not to be"

So Stevens has been on holiday and since he has returned there hasn't been an opportunity to get the two parties together to sign the papers....maybe Chris Wilder has had a few well deserved days in the sun...?

"delayed" talks indicates that talks will happen........no panic yet!

His agent is probably playing a bit for time so he gets the chance to see what else is on offer before committing himself. The agent probably is thinking that a club like QPR will offer a bigger financial deal, which of course is good for the agent. But if Stevens wants to play on a decent wage for a good football team that is going places then he will choose United hopefully.

There's nothing in the above to suggest it isn't happening - but if it hasn't happened by Friday this week then I suspect it won't happen - even though some bloke on here has reported it as gospel having chatted to James Smith about it on the Supertram.!

Someone on the Pompey forum said recently that Enda's contract expires 31st May 17. So he'll want a June17 salary debit from somewhere to pay his bills etc.

So I expect a deal to happen soon, probably this week.

Do footballers live pay cheque to pay cheque?

Not being a twat, just always assumed they'd have a better cash flow position than that, even on League Two wages.

I've heard all of Mr Stevens' disposable income goes towards funding his survivalist shelter and supplies in preparation for the Enda the world.

Agree, you wouldn't think so BUT
Whenever there's financial trouble at clubs like Bolton, Blackpool etc resulting in salary pay dates have been missed the publicity is often about salaries not being paid means their mortgage and bills don't get paid etc. Reports say that some even go to the Players Union to ask for financial help regards cash flow problems. Suppose it depends in individual circumstances but you can bet some players live right up their their limits with massive mortgages.

Sorry it's my first post don't know how to edit all the garbage out

Pleased with that - should be a Good signing hopefully.

By far the stand out defender in league 2. Should at the very least push lafferty (who's been steady if not spectacular) for a start.

Good age and covers a position we were vert light in.

Got a good feeling about this one, we've got him for his best years.
