Has Dennis club indicated they are willing to send him out on loan ??

Can see this getting done in January, like the Berge deal. Hope I’m wrong and we see him sign this window!

Hope we’re not building this guy up to fail if he does come. If he was the next big thing in Europe he’d be linked with one of the really big clubs (even bigger than Wednesday!!) and he’s not as far as I can see.
He might well be very good but let’s keep our expectations under control

Dortmund, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atalanta, Arsenal all been linked. are they not in the upper echelon?

Aye but if any one of those clubs was concretely in for him then:

a) he’d have probably gone by now; and

b) we wouldn’t even be in the race.

Not knocking him at all, he’s clearly a talent and think he could flourish with us - he is definitely my preferred striker of all of those we have been connected with this summer. But agree that if this were to come off we need to keep expectations in check, could be a slow burning start (not dissimilar to Sander).

Liverpool and Napoli and West Ham were after Berge didn't stop us beating them too him.

I think he'd need to get used to the pace of the premier league game agree, but would say its arguably easier for a striker to get used to it than a midfielder, especially Berge coming in and playing such a strange and demanding role. we shall see, i dont think we will get him but my hope is there

Are they real links though? We’re linked to every man and his dog but how many are real? In reality if all or at least most of those wanted him they would get him ahead of us if they wanted him and that’s not a poor likkle ol Sheffield United statement before I get accused of that

Fair point - think we got the jump on people in Jan and it’s proving harder to do that in the Summer. But certainly share your hope - don’t think he’s a completely unrealistic signing

Wilder said with Berge we had to get in him January as he heard big clubs were waiting til the summer to move for him. It is why we moved for him early rather than wait til the summer and get into a bidding war.

It is possible for us to swoop for Dennis as bigger clubs might be reluctant to take the gamble on him due to COVID.

If Liverpool and Napoli were 'after' Berge, they'd have got him.

don’t get too excited, I really cannot see this happening now, Burke and Brewster much more sensible options in this financial climate and we have already spent £30m+, can you really see us spending £50m+ this window after covid and berge? i can’t personally but i’d be chuffed if we do

if you think our spending is done then we wont be signing brewster if he's going for £20 Mill as suggested.

Loan with an obligation to buy could work. Can’t see them loaning him out with no obligation to buy.

if Liverpool are selling its because they need the cash now for the Tiago deal. Loan with obligation to buy just makes no sense.

They either want to loan him to develop him for themselves or sell him to get cash in.
