Sometimes , like any other employee , a footballer grows stale and will benefit from a change of environment & fresh challenge.
He had a long spell with us during which we suffered two extremely painful relegations.
And he had periods of injury & poor form mixed in with periods of success.
Unfortunately his petulant reputation with English refs preceded him and he never got a fair shake , which frustrated me as much as him.
I don't think he would have been revitalised by staying with us.
That said , if we don't recruit a decent striker tomorrow , he will be sorely missed.
He , along with BBD , Osula & Jebbo are NOT adequately replaced by Moore & Campbell

I’m not usually one for taking an interest in ex-players (unless we have a sell on) but have to admit to enjoying this thread. Whatever you think of Oli as a footballer (I personally thought he was excellent for us, mitigated to a fair degree by his fitness record) he seems like a genuine guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. Bit of a lovable idiot. Happy for him tonight.
