If you’re suggesting it’s not true about there being no water, it is.
Well there was hot water when I was up there for the u18 final the other week ,and work was going on refurbing different areas of the academy building which by the way is superb . Like I say lots of bollox spouted about shirecliffe .best 500k ever spend by sufc acquiring the site from a blades friendly forgemasters .utb

Might have fixed it, it certainly was the case last year

The infrastructure of the club after two very lucrative years in the Premier League (and even if we hadn't had that), is nothing short of embarrassing.

What eventually came of the Norton aerodrome rumours? If ever there was a perfect site for a state of the art training ground, that's it.

Isn't it green belt land?

There was apparently a problem with aspestos and the land was initial sold to the council for housing, for them to then sell it on to SUFC meant they would have to pay a levy to the people who sold it to them. Possibly MOD

Asbestos was to be removed by the council anyway wasn't it?

Does that mean it's dead in the water then?

Either way, something should be done with that site, even if it's just restored to countryside. It's a massive waste of a potentially nice area. A relatively flat one as well, which is hard to come by in Sheffield. Hence why it would be perfect for United's needs.

It could be worse though let's be honest.
At least they aren't training on a school field off Carter Knowle Road anymore like 20 years ago. With a little pavillion with 2 changing rooms ;)

The asbestos must have been removed. The building that was nearest the duel carriageway was riddled with asbestos, numerous warnings were on the building. It also used to be covered in graffiti, one piece of graffiti I took a picture of many years ago, it said "WARNOCK OUT!" thought it was hilarious.

Anyway, I say the asbestos must have been removed because just a couple of weeks ago film crews were there, with RV's and trailers on that bit of land. For the new Full Monty series.

The RAF camp has long been a source of speculation, not just for United. But it was going to be a supermarket at one stage. That St. James retail park down at Jordanthorpe/Norton would have been a lot better there. Multiple ways in/out. Unlike the bottleneck they have now made.
