email from club - NO MORE TICKETS ON SALE IN KOP - standing & wrong seat usage

This has been going on for a few months now. The downside is now there will be a few thousand who wanted to get to the Spurs match who won't now. This is all because of a few self-entitled dickheads who refuse to sit in their own seats, despite the warnings of the consequences the club is now facing. It's time for the club to get tough on these dickheads and start revoking season tickets and banning those who are found up there.

Do these people not know how to work the internet?!
Exactly what I've just said to Mrs W. I was there to move my ticket for Wednesday and get a mate a ticket with me, no way of doing that online. Couldn't believe the queues when I got there, people queuing for the sake of it, who could easily get online and buy tickets without leaving the comfort of their homes.

I wonder if anyone at the club has done the following calculation:

A. Work out the potential extra income from selling those seats

B. Deduct the cost of having a steward on each row and each gangway that checks each person has a valid ticket for each row.

Surely if A > B that could be done.

If they get up to have a pie / piss / snort or whatever they have their ticket checked again on return.

From a capacity of 32,000 due to closing the Westfield and rows of seats on the back of the kop we will only be able to have around 22,000 home fans attending in other word just ST holders if they can be bothered I know I can't I'll watch on TV fuck SUFC no need for this ban the twats who can't sit in their allocated seat rather than punish all fans. Why no communication? Why do we find out when we go to buy tickets? PISS POOR from the club.

To get a mate a ticket with you don't you just add their customer number to your account? I've got a few of my mates on my account in case they want them bought.

Best way if things don't work is to email them, you get a quicker response than phone.

I've got them on my friends and family, but its because my season ticket is on the kop, it's been fine until recently but with em not selling tickets on the kop I have to move mine to sit with them. Last time I had to pay the difference which was a rip off, basically paid an extra £15 for a ticket I'd already bought, this time they've not charged me.

So the solution is what ? Sell the tickets and call SAG's bluff ?
I don't think it's SAG ultimately, it's the council which licenses the ground.
The point I made was that United went way too far by voluntarily stopping so many ticket sales and as a result we've already put the club is a weak position.
We've ended up ensuring a very minor issue has become something quite problematical for the club by indicating it was so serious that effectively more than 20 per cent of the kop had to be closed.
I think it is very doubtful the council would require the club to take such drastic action by law as it would be politically a nightmare for them and they would also have to legally justify what they were doing.
My only proviso would be if there is a significant safety hazard from minor overcrowding in very small areas of an all-seater stand. So far, I haven't seen any reference to anyone getting injured or any reference to what danger is created.

Unfortunately we are all making assumptions because of the lack of actual information.

I'm not sure what is going to happen with it because not enough is being released.

It sounds though that we "the club" have started to step up clamping down on fans being in wrong seats as of last weekend.
Like many have said, needs to be all over the ground so that no-one can have any excuses (They shouldn't anyway by now!).

And any fans congregating in wrong seats or gangways asked to move and if they don't they will be ejected from the stadium etc. (Within reason).

My worry is that we won't rectify it and we will end up with a much reduced Kop capacity. Because and lets be frank about this idiots....

Classic farce from all the usual suspects.

I've banged the drum for fans to do as asked but it's not just about that now imho.

Ridiculous situation all round.

Lol..the club didn’t volunteer to stop selling tickets on the Kop, we were threatened with closure of the entire stand if the club did nothing.

The communication though has been horrendous as it has been on all issues since the Prince washed his hands and appointed Mr. Shell Suit as Chairman.

Back 7 rows of Kop not available, so thats about 1300/1400 empty seats. Then about the first 10 seats of every row on the side also unavailable, so another 500 odd. Not far off 2000 empty seats then, added to the Westfield corner.
Fuck it, can’t book my usual seat so I won’t be bothering as going to make getting seats together difficult at a guess.

Everyone keeps banging on about these 'idiots', has anyone actually seen people congregating in the gangways since the announcement because everytime I look back it looks clear & under capacity. Fellas I know who stand at the back report absolutely zero issues in recent weeks/months. Seems to me essentially everyone did as they were told. Which has had a significant negative impact on the atmosphere in the top right corner as anyone could have predicted.

There was no credible threat to close the entire stand and there would have been legal and political mayhem if that happened. Never at all likely.
All the club's actions have been taken without any legal requirement to do so and the problem we have now is because of the drastic action the club took which seems to be far more severe than any other club in the country.
Still haven't seen any specific information about the safety danger the problem is posing. Presume there must be something but so far the biggest safety issue seems to have arisen from stewards trying to enforce people to sit in their own seats rather than minor overcrowding at the back of an all-seater stand.

At a guess? So you haven't tried?
Can't book your normal seat( which is only applicable for league games) so you are sulking ?
Ah well, at least it means someone else who wants to go and support the team has a chance of going

Son of Len.

Are you party to the discussions and any correspondence? You must be because haven’t you previously criticised the club for not releasing any details?

It's clearly a fucking mess, but are we really losing as much money as is being touted about? Attendances haven't dropped, fans have just been dispersed elsewhere. The average attendance hasn't dropped, and of anything, tickets elsewhere are more expensive. The clubs probably making money out of it
A few games we'd have got more than the 29k on offer.

Before these restrictions i was all for extending the capacity. In the PL its going to be a right joke. If pigs can get 34k in L1 why can't we get more in the PL?

Everything you are saying here is wrong..

"so far the biggest safety issue seems to have arisen from stewards trying to enforce people to sit in their own seats rather than minor overcrowding at the back of an all-seater stand."
Sit in the seat you booked you selfish twats!

Must admit that’s started to rile me a bit a short well.

Almost like they are on autopilot blasting out the same line every few days “ idiots should sit in their own seat”

Fine if that’s your opinion but back it up with evidence to justify why you think it’s still an issue.

Precisely what Wendy said before the Rust trap disaster.

What could possibly go wrong.

Bang on the money!……you don’t get this on the south stand or John St….why because they sit in their seat…it’s not hard..at all!🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Fine, Is it ok for me to grab you by the scruff of the neck and march you down the Kop stairs, and pass your selfish arse to the plod, next time you push onto the seating row to look like you belong there at the back of the kop?

I have no idea what the relevance of that comment is. After the statement has anyone actually got any evidence people are still mobbing gangways & overcrowding the back because I'm not too far from the back of G myself, I've seen nothing & everyone I know who stands at the back (decent sized sample) says absolutely none of it seems to have happened since.

Despite this everyone keeps talking about "selfish twats not listening".
Have you lot seen something i/we haven't?

Cannot possibly be a serious comparison 😭 surely nobody genuinely believes that Kop has ever been unsafe other than the snowflake school prefects who work at SAG/SCC.

A quick look on social media reveals trouble at other grounds this season. I don't think we've experienced anything like it at the Lane this season and I stand to be corrected but I don't think other clubs that have had more serious trouble have had sections of their ground closed down for months on end.
