At the beginning of the season i confidently predicted the top six as this
  • Blades
  • Wigan
  • Scunthorpe
  • Swindon
  • Millwall
  • Chesterfield
Just shows what I know.

I think I went for automatic too, for the first time in my life!

I blamed Clough for being too negative. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine his players were actually this bad.

At least Adkins signings give us grounds for optimism. :D

And that's the worst part. Imagine you're a senior director of a company. The recruitment manager, of whom you are responsible for, brings in 5 employees, 4 of which are proving to be miles below the standard of which is required. It just so happens that the following financial year they'll be a huge workforce turnaround and a lot more vacancies up for grabs. Do you then give that recruitment manager the responsibility for multiple times more vacancies than the one's they've already failed in at bringing the right people in? No you wouldn't, because if you did and the mistakes were amplified, as they've a very high chance of doing, you'd be called in by the CEO, the warning signs of the earlier failings of the recruitment manager recited to you and subsequently sacked on the spot.

Without knowing the budget it's hard to say. Without knowing if he was the one who pressed the bottom on Sammon (I'm told not) it's hard to know.

Sharp has been a hit. Edgar above average. Woolford looks like a bang average 3rd division player, which is probably what he's getting paid as. Hammond looks like an averge player, and I'm sure we're paying too much there.

In any case, I'd know that a previous track record like his deserved some slack, for his sake and ours. And slack is something you have never cut him. Your agenda was clear from the off.

Slack? If slack consists of allowing him the time and room to amplify his mistakes on a much enlarged and incredibly risky scale, I'm glad I won't be cutting any. I'm just dreading the results if we do.

blah blah blah.

Let me guess. This is not actually an Economics A level mock paper, but another dig at Adkins.

Have you ever yet been thwarted by a thread where you couldn't turn it into an attack on Adkins?

I went

1. Wigan
2. Millwall
3. Blades
4. Donny
5. Bradford
6. Coventry

How is that an attack? I'm merely pointing out the dangers in allowing mistakes to be enlarged and made worse.

To be honest, I (and nobody else it seems) gives a rats ass about your attention seeking opinion.

Apologies (to others) for engaging you though.

I'd make sure that anyone who's been on the sick since mid-October would be high on the list of those that needs replacing not listening to.

Absolutely spot on, and bearing in mind the lack of money forthcoming in the JTW I think the board have got him sussed.

What has me not going since mid-October got to do with the point about the manager?

Did I mention a name?
Did I say it was Barney?
Why are you being so touchy Barney?
Relax, it's not always about Barney, take a tramadol and calm.

As for the OPs tip Top Six, let's see at the end of May. Possibly three clubs will be there? Including us.

In August my top 6 was
1 Wigan
2 Millwall
3 Sheff Utd
4 Bradford
5 Burton (which I feel smug about now)
6 Barnsley

I knew utd wouldn't make automatic because our defending was was too inconsistent & had no incomings til we'd lost shock 4-0 to Gillingham so surely same results would turn up but I thought we would at least be fighting for a home play off semi final. Not scraping 6th

I saw Burton success coming because they were high on confidence & thought a good start & they could keep it going. Despite majority I told said I was mad Burton would be more like bottom 6. Never saw success Gillingham or Walsall would be having this season

So you would sack Adkins then would you Barney?. You never seized to amaze me!!!

After I'd learnt the transfer parameter Adkins was working under, the amount of crocks who hadn't done a pre - season, and Clough's own desire to radically revamp the squad, I said we'd finish between fifth and twelfth. After Murphy left (against Adkin's wishes) I though we'd be closer to twelfth.
