Cloughy wouldn't put up with this insubordination
He said as much about some of the Burton players last season that were commuting over by car together from Liverpool area - he didn't sound happy about it. Can't believe Wilder allows it - maybe he should take a leaf out of Nigel's book when it comes to team spirit building

Seems odd that they would still live so far away. Must be a pain in the arse coming back and forth on the Snake Pass or Woodhead every day, for training.

Aye, it's a right fucker struggling over the Snake in your Overfinch Range Rover or Aston Martin only to have to return a couple of hours later. And they say footballers are overpaid.

Plus you'll probably spend a night or two in the Copthorne most weeks to cut down on travel.

I think they'll be right.

Top three... ;)

Fax machine.
We don't "need" to sell anymore....
"Unseen" dean Hammond..

Think Liverpool, guys....

Duffy and JOC commute most days to Sheffield from Liverpool and pick Done up on route as he lives somewhere near Manchester. Probably driving straight home I guess. It's quite common for players to travel back separately if they live in different parts of the country

I was wondering this after the away game at Oldham. I drove past Done in his car with someone else (couldn't make out who) on my way out of the car park there and was wondering why they weren't on the team bus. Thanks for clearing that up!

Have seen Duffy and Done arrive at Bramall Lane together on match days, deffo car share from Liverpool way.

If you dont know, get to know.

Respect for those that put hours in so we can post shite.

About S24SU
We're an un-official fan site and forum, owned and run by @Foxy and @Linz and that site has been around over a decade in various guises.

We are our own entity and have no official links with Sheffield United FC, Sheffield United PLC or any online football network. We believe this allows us to bring you the views of the fans on the stands with no ulterior motive or agenda.

We are of course in regular dialogue with the club and regularly pass on questions, concerns and feedback.

About the forum

As you may know, neither of us are around all of the time and we have worked hard to put the ethos in place which pretty much lets the forum run itself.

However, when there are issues, please do use the "report" button to draw anything to our attention - be it a user being naughty or something more mundane like a thread needing merging etc. You might not get an acknowledgement of the action we've taken, but we do look at all of the reported items.

Other reminders:

* Txt spk – You have an entire keyboard, unlimited characters, various spell-checkers and the whole English language to use. Some of our members are older. Others don’t speak English as a first language. In order to be accommodating to all, we ask that you try and type properly.

* Please make your thread titles as descriptive as possible - this helps us avoid duplication and makes it easier to spot where threads should be merged. When creating a new thread, you'll also be presented with a small list of similarly named thread to aid you in cutting down on repetition.

* Please keep all discussion about other football, including our neighbours across the city, in the Other Football and Sport section. General Blades Chat gets busy enough without threads about "them" too.

* And on the above point, please post your threads in the most relevant forums. They’ll only get moved there eventually.

* Please do not put potentially not safe for work pictures in forum threads without hiding them behind spoiler tags and putting a NSFW warning on. I don't know what liberal professions some of you work in but widescreen sized pictures of ladies with their tits out is not what my gaffers want to see when I'm having a quick check of the forum at dinnertime.

* Infractions: Personal Abuse - Three infractions earn members a one week ban. Any further infraction then earns a permanent ban.

We expect our members to remain respectful in the event of disagreements. Personal abuse will not be tolerated and neither will escalating arguments. This forum was set-up to allow all Blades fans to have their say and allow members to debate subjects intelligently. Each instance of personal abuse will earn one infraction (and no amount of PMs attempting to state your case that "calling someone a twat doesn't count" will change that.)

* Swearing - Bear in mind that a wide range of people can read your posts. Swearing is tolerated on the forum and there is no profanity filter, but bear in mind that your posts are public and can be read by anyone. We'd ask you to self police in this respect, ensuring that where used, language is suitable to the situation/point being made.

Don't want to be a nag, but also don't want to be on here babysitting you all.

As always, if you have any questions, feedback or suggestions, you know where we are!

Regards & Up The Blades,

@Foxy & @Linz

The car I've seen them in is more like the one people get after passing their test to keep down insurance and which you book on Holidayautos then find it'll only take 2 small suitcases in the boot. Not sure Jack O'Connell would even fit in it - not without bending his magic hat.

WYEDP?

Saw an article today in one of the Sunday's that suggested some Northern Prem league teams are considering moving their training facilities to the London area so players can live there and so make it easier to attract players to clubs like Sunderland etc

You mean the modesty car DC. It's an old trick. Drive it a couple of miles then get into the Porsche, Ferrari or Range Rover, usually with big fuck off shiny alloys. Don't fall for it.

Been out trying that on your recommendation, it hasn't worked so far!

I am not too keen on this and surprised the club allow players to drive home after matches.

Can you imagine the loss if an accident happened and a car with Fleck, Sharp, Coutts and Freeman was involved. An event like that would be a disaster to the team.

The players are assets of the club and if I was in charge I would not allow players to travel together to or from matches. Those who live outside Sheffield should stay at the Copthorne and travel on the team bus. At the least I would lay on a chauffeur in special circumstances.
