A bargain or a good find is always welcome. But eventually if you're signing too many of the likes of shackleton, dozzell, tyrese campbell not to mention the worrying amount of minutes adam davies is getting you're eventually going to end up with a bottom half of the championship squad.

Unless he really pulls up some trees I'd focus on quality over quantity in literally the only part of the pitch we currently have some strength in.

I see your point but I'm sure you'd have said the same about McGoldrick when we signed Jim and he turned out pretty well having been released by Ipswich.

If you've got good quality around the squad players then it works well like it did when Crainie and Madine played. Both Shackleton and Dozzell have played for England at various levels so they've got pedigree but are still only 24/5.

Campbell came through Man City so again is a decent player it's just if we can get the best out of them, same with Bowler.

On the other hand we've spent big money down the years and it's often not come off or they didn't justify the fee. Brewster and Darius Henderson spring to mind!

I've not seen him play and those who have against weaker opposition. The lads done himself no harm at all and can't ask anymore. If he's as good as , or better than what we have to cover that position then yes ,if we think we can do better then so be it , no slight on him atall .
Ideally we want a squad of 1st team players , injuries and suspensions will happen but we can't afford that to weaken the team .
I'm hoping the club have that philosophy rather than squadfillers who don't challenge or get a look in.

When we look at the options for me a simple one year deal with option to extend can’t be a bad shout. Although plenty of options if all playing well and fit that is unlikely over a long season with cup games too. It could easily come to 2 starters and 1 back up very quickly

It sounded to me like he’s expecting him to go but was talking him up in case he ends up staying.

PGA have set a limit (possibly 3 games) but then again Townsend and Burnley broke that last season presumably with Townsends agreement.
Probably will have learnt more with our two teams playing against each other than our limited opposition.

I've seen him against Harrogate ie F ALL.
Young players can grow, under good leadership.

FAILED to even try and close down to block the cross at Rotherham on the goal.
