Mate, he's sat on the bench because he didn't do very well last time he played, which was at Forest a few weeks ago. He had the whole of the first half and looked sadly off the pace and did bugger all. He was subbed early in the second half for Clarke. Which may suggest Wilder sees them as offering similar qualities - which, in turn, may limit their chances of playing together. A long way to go though yet, I'm sure he'll get other opportunities as the season goes on, and I hope he takes them.

Meanwhile, I couldn't give a damn about how he feels tbh. Play well, get in the team, stay in the team. Sentiment doesn't come into it.

He wasn’t fit v Forest

Mate there OUR players , and I don't know about you but I DO care how they feel , everyone of them !!

I thought Leon was awesome last night and really was a good shout for MOTM. He did put in a huge shift physically though and with Hull to come on Sat - it wouldn't surprise me if CW didn't give Clayton another go at APR on Tue and say to him ... "That's the kind of effort I need from you".

UTB.

Great times to be a Blade.

Aye won’t be surprised if he plays Tuesday or gets 30 mins off the bench given Leon’s effort last night

Yep, there'll be a few changes Tuesday and Clayton for Leon could well be one. Wouldn't surprise me if there's 4 or 5 changes with Lundstram for Fleck forced, maybe Samir, Brooks, Clayton, Lafferty getting starts.

We’re a team , squad , club ,
Sir Chris is (has ) installed a mentally of all for 1 one for all ,
No player is bigger than our team ,
put the effort in , in training put yourself forward for selection and give Sir Chris
the problem of who to pick ,
He’ll tell them face to face who , what and when they play for us
Let the multi millionaires , huffy fuckers play up the road in south Barnsley, that’s what individuals play like .

He's on twitter praising the lads after every game so I reckon he's alright :) I imagine it's hard to worry too much about game time with the team spirit he has around him, a sentiment that's been echoed by many for the last year I believe

Should be 100% by now so I reckon we might see him start v QPR, Leon deserves a rest

Yeah. Billy Sharp is going through a rough patch. Get him out of the starting 11 ASAP.

The 2 players for every shirt system is working to pefection with like for like replacements all over the park. It gives squad players a hope of a game and they don't get pushed down the pecking order as there's only one player keeping them out. With this in mind and Fleck out on Tuesday, I would expect Samir to come in as a natural replacement.

He’s a really good fella. During the warmups at half time he had some of the other players in stitches.

Can’t leave a fit billy on the bench.
Donno will get a cup game and a chance and if we ever look like losing a game......
Wilder is so hell bent on winning he’ll chuck
all the strikers on.

I'm sure Donaldson's arrival has made Clarke up his game.

It really speaks volumes about Clarke's performances when Donaldson can't even get on the pitch for 10 minutes.

Pretty sure he'll start at QPR though.

Yep, yep and yep to the above. I don't think our high press, maximum energy game is sustainable for a whole season, or even half a season, with the same starting XI every week. Especially up top, where Leon, e.g., barely gets any breather at all, whether we have the ball or don't.

I'd assume that Wilder wanting cover all over the pitch is as much down to the style of play he wants, as it is down to the usual contingencies for injuries and suspensions.

reckon it will be Samir for Fleck myself and i reckon the Don might start.. Samir must be straining at the leash.. Fleck deserves a break anyway

He'll play his part this season. They all will have to at some stage.

think of Clarke last year had some unfortunate spells with injuries that kept him out for long parts of the season, came back like a house on fire at the end of the season maybe something similar will happen with clayton and ched

He was returning from an injury. It’s not so simple as you appear to think.

Joined the club and did the business at Sunderland. That probably would've have earned him a run of games but for the injury. And then, as has happened so many times in the last season and a bit, the players that stepped in have given him no chance to get back in. Who are you going to drop for him? Sharp, Clarke? Should he have been ahead of Brooks last night?

He'll get a chance between now and the end of the season.

Not a dig at The Don but this lad has landed right on his feet joining us - considering Birmingham are in a relegation scrap.
