Have waited to post this but at Stoke (h), my auntie, who sits on the Kop at the front says a bloke she knows got knocked over and had an angina attack.

The reason it happened, in her words, was because some idiot ran on the pitch to celebrate when Didzy scored and a steward made it his mission to go after him.

Due to his attempts to get back amongst the fans, a poor old bloke minding his own business and enjoying a goal was knocked flying and had his health, possibly his life, put at risk.

If you’re on here, don’t go on the pitch - apart from anything else, you haven’t earned the right to be there. It’s completely selfish and no good can come of it.

Good point, the other reason not to bother is that we’ll probably give the opposition a goal late on anyway to either lose or draw so it’s absolutely not worth getting excited when we score.

“you haven’t earned the right to be there” : how very true !

I'd be a little hypocritical fully going along with this as I sometimes like seeing a pitch invasion.

However, I agree the sentiments. We've got a notable number of younger fans at present who don't give a flying fuck about their fellow Blades.

Therefore, I don't give a flying fuck about them.

Yeah but only the biggest of blades go on the pitch.

I bet its most fans dreams to be on a pitch celebrating a goal with the players, but as the OP rightly said we haven't earnt that right. But a couple of morons who want to look the big man in front of their mates think they're above others who can manage to enjoy a goal from their seats or the correct side of the hoardings. Its nothing about Passion, its just selfishness.

I saw this from my seat on John Street. I hope the old guy is ok.

What gets me is the idiot that ran on the pitch giving it large soon turned into a scared little boy running away from the big bad steward! If you’re going to be brave enough to run on the pitch then have the balls to face the consequences!

Same here, saw it happening. Nobody should be going on the pitch. However, on that occasion, the massive steward with the bald head literally trampled over everyone in his path when trying to catch the idiot running back into the seats.

I know the stewards have a job to do, but no common sense was used. Let the idiot run back in to the seats and don’t risk trampling over young kids/old people and injuring them. Just keep an eye on where he runs, radio the steward at the top of the kop and deal with him on his way out.
