Disagree about K. Wallace. He would be in, or very close to the first 11 for me. Looked positive when he came on against Derby and has a knack of getting past his man despite looking very ungraceful. Decent athlete and build. Not sure why the manager doesn’t fancy him to be honest.

Not sure what happened with Wallace. He seemed to be doing OK and progressing and then just dropped. Supposedly due to injury but then never got a look in when fit again.
And all this ITK stuff but no one has even started a rumour about what he might have done.

I remember after he came on for his debut at Orient, coming away from the ground and hearing so many Blades who in all honesty had probably never seen him play saying 'Not good enough etc etc'. Completely overlooking the facts that Davies an experienced professional hadn't been given a kick all afternoon by the two Orient center-halves and Clough decided to play him up top on his own.

Maybe first impressions count ......but feel that some on here expect him to come off the bench for 10 minutes and score a hat-trick.

Watched the video playback; and he was gutted he missed what appeared to be an easy goal and I know from feedback he still is gutted.

If Wilder does the right thing next game and puts him on...............for more than 5 minutes ! then I believe we will see a difference. Wilder as to show faith in these players, if he doesnt and wont play him then that would be a mistake.

Wilder nurtured him at Northampton and he did well for him so I say lay off him............pick on Clarke and Sharpie.

I dont expect him to score even if he is given limited time but I expect him to show something even if it is work rate or nuisance factor. Can cope with poor contro and being offiside contiually. He was given significant time on Tuesday really not 10 minutes....around 40 odd minutes with stoppage time / extra time. As I say I did not go to Grimsby when he was apparently very good but is pre season...but in every other outing I have seen of him either starting or albeit mostly off the bench I have barely seen him do anything right and I do not think I am exaggerating sadly.

Such an odd thing – were he still with us he might not even be on the bench. I don't think anyone on here would have thought he'd be sent on as a genuine attacking move in the last ten minutes at home to Arsenal as a last roll of the dice to help get a win.

So then:
– is he overrated and appearing too early, or
– have we collectively underrated his talents?

Nearly cost them the game with a poor clearance - that led to 2 efforts off the line. He won a few flick ons though and got about the pitch.

Funny how people see things Heaton. I think the DCL deal was a good deal. I saw nothing in him to suggest he will be anything special. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, time will tell but we have had plenty of youngsters who were pointed out as having what it takes (remember Ian Ross?) yet fell away into oblivion. My view is that DCL is the next Jordan Slew but as I say, I could be wrong.

It was a good deal at the time for everyone concerned. Did it reflect his future value? No, but we weren't in a position to really dictate that

Wilder felt it was right and most importantly he is getting the best out of the League 1 players that we have and NEED.

Did we need a player of DCL's future potential or did we need players for League 1 right now?

It's actually the U21 squad and again, I don't think that's bad. Bear in mind that many/most U21's never go on to the full squad. It's interesting that people have the perception that United give our youngsters away. The question I'd ask is, how many have been sold on for a higher fee than United got?
