I went and today's win doesn't change a thing.

If we beat a side above us I might say we have a small chance of top 6 but you've got to judge today on how pathetic Bristol were.

I need to get this off my chest, dam you fickle mo fo's. I have followed the Blades up and down the country for the most part of my life, ok I did moan a bit having to sit in a car that's window wouldn't wind back up on the journey back from Carlisle and I lost three teeth sticking the nut on a coppers boot in Bristol trying to pull my cousin out of a skirmish in the seventies, I could go on.

Do you think the Woodward and Currie era was a bowl of strawberry's and ice cream topped with nice sprinkles , think again. Leeds and the wendy have mostly had it over us, we are what we are, Blades, obviously most posters don't know what that means, if you are not prepared to suffer for the cause go support manure or their ilk.

Grrrrrrrrrr, you negative arse holes, you get on my tits. Rant over.

I didn't go as was at my sisters wedding. Gutted to have missed it to be honest. PS I also missed Palace at home due to a wedding. Perhaps I should stay away?

Morning Boo!
Yes pleased with the win yesterday!
I will reserve judgement and report back after the Forest and Peterborough matches
I have been watching them for too many years to think that one match changes everything!
But it does prove that they can play a bit of football!

Wrong. It does change a thing. It changes the perception that Blackwell can only send a team out to play one way. It also provides hope that things might be better than they have been.

Seriously, why look for negatives after a performance like that? Why not just enjoy it tonight?

I know you won't believe this Nick but I don't think United are as one dimensional as people make out. I think we do try and play a bit but lack the personnel - ie Monty breaks our play up time after time when he is in a 442.

I just think Blackwell is a useless manager and can't get a team playing consistently. Partly injuries and partly his daft tactical changes.

Hopefully, yesterday will be the start of a glorious end of season run ending in victory at Wembley

Its all about balance ,yesterday was a balanced line up and everybody could see this as soon as we knew the team. It's just so frustrating that the manager won't play this system and team on a regular basis ,we have the players but he doesn't seem to trust them and they play with fear rather than invention. The introdustion of Quinn was rank bad management again ,it will have destoyed Quinn to be booed onto the pitch ,there was no need for him to be brought on and if we had conceded a goal the last 10 minutes the fall out would have been massive. Quinn is not good enough ,as are Stewart and Evans at this time ,we played so much better without these 3.
I thought Montgomery had a very good game ,kept it simple and brought other players into the game ,without doubt Monty/Williamson is our best combination.

I suppose your comments are directed at supporters like me and you are making this comment based on the back of the best display of proper football we have seen in a long time.

If Blackwell has well and truly 'seen the light' and we can expect this level of performance everytime we go to a game then he will have mine and countless others support for the long term.

If he reverts back to the senseless and ridiculous hoofball tactics then he will not.

Simple as that.

It just shows what can be achieved when a team is set up correctly from the start and allowed to expess themselves.

PS don't give me that ' he hasn't had the money to spend' rubbish. He has had and wasted plenty.

Anyway like all Blades will say ' more of the same please' !

What he said...

But today he certainly put to bed any thoughts that he doesn't have a Plan B. Nobody can use that argument any more with any credibility.

Unless of course you want to talk about the play off final, or more recently Watford away or Preston away, to name but two games where we came up against shit sides, didn't change anything and came out losing.

Good win yesterday, not great as some would have you believe, but a good and much needed win. There's often much criticism of the Blackwell Out brigade for only posting after a defeat well sorry but no, we tend to be here most of the time, unlike the Super Blades who clap through thick and thin but who are strangely quiet when things aren't going so well. Not knocking that mindset, if you're happy just being a Blade then fair do's, just please stop trying to make out everything's always rosy and the future's looking bright when that isn't necessarily the case.

Let's enjoy the win yesterday, but let's enjoy it even more if we do the same in the next couple of games, and then we may start and believe that yes, we really do have a Plan B

:gallop:

Wouldnt it just be a lot better if we could accept yesterday as a good performance without getting carried away one way or another. On the face of it Bristol City didnt offer a lot going forward but I felt that was due to;

1) We took the game to them and pressed them into their own half; forcing their midfield deep and denying their forwards service

2) Bartley and Nosworthy were outstanding and starved the two big forwards if any service at all

I thought United looked a decent side for long periods yesterday and there were some big pluses in the performances of Yeates, Willo and Camara. The difference was KB went out there with a positive formation and clearly encouraged the players to pass and move. He would do himself a big favour by sticking to that against Forest on tuesday and onwards.

Much better from the boys!

Grrrrrrrrrr, you negative arse holes, you get on my tits. Rant over.

As one of your percieved negative arseholes I will only say this.
You saw yesterday, by accident or by design, what this team is capable of.
It is now time to play positively and see how the rest of the season unfolds.

While not disagreeing with what you say at all, the majority of opponents make life far more difficult for us. It's rare we're allowed to play in the way we did yesterday.

When we go away from home, grind the opposition down and nick a win (like most of last season!), we're full of praise. But so many fans only watch our team. They attribute the nature of the game entirely to us, our tactics, our players and our manager. That's only ever half the story.

There will be many times when we try to play as we did yesterday, but simply aren't allowed. All I ask is that the team keeps trying to play that way, even when it's a battle, and fans give them the appreciation and patience they need.

UTB!

PS; the demise of the likes of Leeds and Wednesday doesn't mean can sit back.
And don't insult me by suggesting the likes of Man Utd after over 50 years of going to watch my team

Now Boo. That's a daft thing to say. He didn't have to play Monty at full back.
We had centre backs playing full back when we had full backs on the bench,
We had strikers playing on the wing and vice versa. Williams out wide.
(Plus his insistance of playing the ginger one no matter what)
That's not playing to strengths is it mate.
Today, for me, proves the point and that Henderson is a better player when we play proper football to feet.

Amazing how much strength in depth we have.
We must have signed lots of players i didn't know about.
please tell me more about them?
