Honestly the Internet really has fucked our lives up. Can't people just get on with their lives without having to be reassured that we are signing a player or stressing about why its taking so long?
No. The only thing I use the internet for right now is pissing my pants about signings and googling how to get piss out of pants.

Barry seemed to be the same day as his announcement so maybe, i wonder if a foreign loan may take longer due to language difference maybe? Not sure if im reading too much into that
I'd love this to be true..

"Lift your right leg please"
"O que?"
"Your right leg, please lift it up"
"O que?"
"Your leg, move it about"
"O que?"
"We're gona need a few days here guys.."

Frightening innit :(

Very true.

Take Wednesday as an example. Their thirst for daily updates almost encourages a “death by a thousand cuts” approach.

They could legitimately turn up and have all four sides of the ground available, all staff and players up to date on their pay and a fully filled squad albeit it quite a few names from prior seasons won’t be there.

Instead you’ve got 2 months of bed wetting in between. Many thought Windass was an opinionated gobshite, but it is announced he didn’t want to stay then they flounce, he says he’s leaving as he’s found a way out of his extension, then they flounce. He actually leaves then they flounce. He signs for Wrexham then they flounce.

They are just glutton for punishment.

We’re probably just as bad in the circumstances.

Some players will come some will go. We won’t have may control over either.

No point in life stressing over things you can’t control.

I know it's nitpicking but being "gluten" for punishment did make me chuckle. I'm assuming auto correct?

Please refer to him by his official title, Snek Bettis
The Prince's "lap dog". We've gone from a situation where our owner was thousands of miles away in Saudi or the States and "muttly" had a free rein at the Lane to a situation where the present owners are thousands of miles away in the States and "muttly" still has a free rein. To me it's a case of "while the cats away the mice will play". He is also a left over from the previous McCabe regime and I believe he got the job because he was a pal of one of McCabe's sons. The club is supposed to be modernising yet last year when asked about a Director of Football Bettis was totally against one. Could that be why we still haven't gone down that route? The 2 points deduction for missing transfer payments was supposed to be because funds weren't available, that was on his "watch" and he is supposed to be an accountant!!! The Prince always appeared to have plenty of funds to waste on his United World group of clubs. Has Bettis seriously got what it takes to guide the club to being established in the Premier League, I doubt it?

Ask for a meeting with him down at the lane and ask him

That sounds like a strong opinion that you've formed, based on not very much.

After aIl, if Bettis was so bad at his job, he wouldn't still be in the job. Would he?

That depends on who the employer is and I like many others was never a fan of his previous employer. Of course Princy will have no doubt given him a glowing reference. So being a CEO of a club our size and a qualified accountant, and allegedly with his "finger on the pulse" it's OK for us to get a points deduction for basically not paying our bills on time. Oh of course having been in business myself "not paying people who you owe on time" is a British disease. Then of course with his "vast knowledge" of the modern game he decides the club doesn't need a Director of Football even though last season 19 of 20 Premier League clubs had a Director of Football or Sporting Director. Plus the vast majority of major football clubs, certainly throughout Europe, have had and still have DofF or SpDirs in post. Then again being a big city football club with a small town mentality it doesn't surprise me one bit.

Bloody SNEK

Bettis that poor at his job he's been made a director .poor chap should have thrown his own wonga in to keep us from a 2 point deduction . I worry about some posters

The last thing done on any transfer is the announcement. The first thing is the rumour and the time between varies greatly. Some clubs seem to have a blow by blow commentary of every stage, I don't think our new regime allow this and don't seem in a rush with that last stage.

So, if you haven't heard about it, doesn’t mean it hasn't been done.

It's only two days ago since the manager confirmed we are looking at him.

Seems likely based off that and the original report but not exactly imminently done

I'd like this a million times if I could. The neuroticism on this forum over transfer rumours is incredible. I'm sure it's the same on other football forums too.

On (hopefully) less contentious territory, if you get the opportunity, visit Braga for a game. Magnificent city,,wonderfully hospitable folk & an incredible stadium - built in a quarry with one ‘end’ a rock face. Access to the stands is via an under the pitch concourse?!?!?!

I went for a UEFA Cup tie v Hearts & about half the party of 20 didn’t return until almost a week later with Braga fans providing impromptu ‘board & lodge’!
That favour was reciprocated in the next round when HOMFC played Schalke in Embra & some Braga fans also went to Rotterdam when Hearts played Feyenoord
The affiliation has continued with ‘regular’ meetings ups since with Braga regularly /routinely playing in European competition - I know folk who’ve seen / joined them in
Brum, Wolves, Notlob, Leicester, Bruges, (Slovan) Bratislava Marseille, (Union)Berlin Udinese Brugge Hoffenheim& many more (Manure, Farsenal ) including Europa League final in Dublin.
Last season a small group joined us in Bruges & Copenhagen for Hearts defeats
Braga have recently played Frankenrangers (2012) a couple of time which caused some confusion/ complications / consternation although I (certainly) didn’t fancy being part of that.
May be further opportunity this season if they (Braga not Hearts!) can get past (Levski) Sofia next 2 Thursdays
Apologies- insomnia = off on a tangent- In summary Go to Braga
0-0 draw in Sofia - it’s ON!!!!
