they weren't pretty but they did a job on us today. we were poor but a lot of that was down to them cutting duffy out the game, did that better than anyone else i've seen this season, piss poor final ball and finishing has cost us though today. we can't keep saying it's just a bad day at the office. a few too many of those are creeping in. but every confidence the management team will get us back on track. few new faces needed just to freshen things up i think. but were still in there fighting at the transfer window. and at the start of the season i'd have bit yer hand off for that

Top six, successful year, roll on 2018.

Happy New Year all.

Thanks Chris.

We were shit and don’t get me started on clever Trevor and themissing midfield.

I think Wilder dropped a bollock today resting Baldock. We were a different side with him on the pitch. I'd have rested him for the Derby game which we were always likely to lose. Worst case scenario. Player isn't rested and will likely have to play on Monday.

We were poor, but part of that was down to Bolton not letting us play. As they tired we got more of the ball, but our final ball and ideas were sadly lacking. Leon also should have scored.

I agree. Notlob got a couple of lucky breaks but deserved it by good hard defending. Know how to disrupt the flow of a game, get in your face and have just enough skill to sneak the odd result.
Frustrating but the Blades looked liked they’d had too much Christmas pud.

Well done Bolton, you did a job on us. First away win of the season.
With my happy hat on, Can't believe we're still in 6th place :)

They didn't do a superb job on us. They play the same way, We were too slow across the pitch. Any team in this division would have beat us today. We were way below par.

Just hope CW doesn't come out with his mantra of 'we weren't good enough, we deserved nothing, they were the better team, we were second to every ball etc al QPR, Millwall, Preston.....

It would be the 4th time in about the last 10 games, & the excuse is not good enough in my opinion. Surely his job is to make sure that effort & motivation are not lacking whoever pulls on the shirt, & HT gives the opportunity to make a difference & fire up the troops for the 2nd half. Defeats are part of the game, but poor performances on a regular basis are inexcusable.

Also not sure constant team changes help, though I would guess that height was an issue today. Good teams learn to put teams like Bolton to bed, & we need to learn ASAP.

Very disappointing today, & then we play the form team Derby on Monday - another defeat I'm expecting, & probably the end of our sojourn in the top 6 for this season. We need to learn & develop to put in a realistic assault on promotion next season.

Hard hat at the ready!!

Hats off to them, nailed an effective game plan.

We’re cap-doffing fucking Bolton now! Unbelievable. Some of you won’t be happy until we’re hoofing again. For the record they weren’t “superb”. They were awful, grotesque, horrible. They were committing fouls every challenge. That’s not commitment or ‘hard play’. It’s outside the laws of the game and the useless fucking ref bought it every time.

It’s our job to overcome anti-football and we failed. That’s fair enough. But applauding the shite they substitute for football is shameful.

True colours showing in S2.

I know we were shite and probably didn’t do enough to deserve a point, let alone 3

But fuck me how WANK was the ref? Did everything he could to stop us having any sort of prolonged pressure, bellend

The difference in the two teams was that when they had the ball in our half we stood and watched them
When we had it in their half they closed us down and got in our faces

Agreed, fuck Bolton, hope they enjoy league 1 again, and stay there this time

Well they were clearly 'superb' at countering what we had to offer, so in that context they were better than us. The game is about winning Pinchy, you don't get deduced points for ugly football. If so Stoke would be in the National League by now.

Last year when we beat them it was a triumph for our football over their hoof....now they have got stronger and dirtier and more cunning but our football has gone off the boil and we were looking a bit lost today

Ah, the Hoofers are coming out of the woodwork. If you like aimless kick and rush, just say so. It’s your right and your heritage. Take pride in it.

Stearman had a very good game up until the formation change - as much as i'm a Jake Wright fan, he'd have made no difference today. If you want to blame anyone, blame CCV for falling back on his heels yet again for the goal. Basham also had his worst game under Wilder.

Exactly this. We were fucking rubbish today, fuck all to do with Bolton. Lets call it as it is.

Madine got a tap in and scored while Leon missed his.
Always going to be an ugly physical game where we had to get the basics right first.
We didn't and they did.
Poor end to a great year UTB!
Happy New Year Blades.. Exiting times ahead.
