Difficult game against Carlisle tonight

Okay, we hit the upright and should have had one penalty. Shit happens.

But it's not as though Birmingham won by a fluke breakaway own goal against the ruin of play and we battered their keeper who stopped everything and they had four on the line. Their goalkeeper didn't make one fucking save all match, yet even in the second half we were mired in the central third trying you figure out a way to get past them without Berge being involved.

There were no positives. We were shit.

As far as I am concerned we are still in pre season.

Just put in a good performance, and a goal or 2 would be nice.
 
Most important part of tonight is for Slav to get another chance to push more of how he wants to play.
I'd hope for a pretty strong line up.
Would like to see Brewster in for Mousset who I think is likely injured. If Sharp or Mcburnie are fit start ahead of Burke perhaps.
Basham in for Robinson.
Give Freeman a run out at some point too.

Berge - Out for many months but looked like the lad we signed again. He drifted past their players effortlessly and greatly adds to our limited creativity.
Ramsdale - Like their keeper, little to do, but his distribution was excellent
Brewster - Could have been like a rabbit in the headlights after least season's shitshow, but I thought he looked keen fresh and up for it. Bodes well.
Mousse - Still got the heart of a flea, but he made some excellent runs, looked lively and wanted the ball. A few early goals this season to prop up his self belief and he could tear through this league.

It was wonderful to see the old faces. Even the miserable twat behind me ('Get subs on'), and all the other people that I've know since 1991, when the Kop went seated. Really good to catch up with some of these people and I hadn't realised quite how much I'd missed BDTBL. It was quite life affirming actually.

You are right of course though.

No positives at all.

I'll tell you what was a positive.... being back at Bramall Lane.

It's 1 match, if this becomes a theme then we worry.

Weirdly that match could have ended 1-1 or 3-0 to Brum and both wouldn't have felt too unjust.

Completely agree.
The performance was 'rusty' to say the least. But in terms of shitness, I have seen far far shitier performances than that one...It WILL get better

Berge - looks like he can turn it on, when he wants. We don't need a player who shows effort and ability on his terms. Even a comparative player like Kevin McDonald was in the game more than Berge. If there is a positive, it is that he is the only player who actually can go past opposition players
Ramsdale - still positionally suspect and not tested enough during that game to give anyone an affirmation he is 'top drawer'
Brewster - an early burst, then out came the bottom lip. After that, nothing.
Mousset - great foray down the flank in the first half, but mainly chasing aimless punts and lost causes he'd never catch in the centre of the park. If another partial appearance is a 'positive' to you, then good luck. I see him being on the treatment table again until Christmas.

Glad the experience at the Lane was good. I envied every supporter who was there and when they sung GCB both me and my wife simultaneously said, 'just listen to that' and we smiled. In 5.1 it sounded thunderous, and it silenced the boos too. The Blades are BACK!

Then we kicked off and lost.
