Didz was ever reliable, ever committed, ever professional, pure quality on the ball, a leader and a role model. We were so lucky to have him and will probably never make a better free signing.

Not much I can say on this, which already hasn’t been said. But I can’t recall the last time I was this sad about a player going. I think it’s the right choice. But it’s a shame he didn’t get that final proper game send off whilst playing.

My favourite player to ever wear the shirt and one of the best too. Poise, grace, Rolls Royce in motion, intelligence, graft and creativity. At the heart of everything we did that was good for a number of years and all on a free transfer.

I was there for his first Blades goal and for his last. A true legend and no one who knows anything about football can surely disagree.

Even during his goal drought, he kept at it and we looked miles better with him in the team than we ever did without him.

I know all good things come to an end, but this still feels a season too soon.

I make it at least 7 first teamers are in their 30’s. Hecky might be looking to bring that down a little?

Leon Clark and McGoldrick both came with o fanfare and less expectation from our fans

we've been lucky that they both gave far more than we could have dreamed of.

mcG was at times sublime. His nous and vision lifted him way above other squad members.
