The desso machines have left the sty now, i guess they will be on site at the lane. They had 3 machines working 24/7 the last few days, i guess they got behind, i notice they have also laid tarmac around the edges up to the edge of the pitch, i wonder if tarmac will be going on top of that white perimeter?

They worked Saturday. Double time. That's why we've all been contacted to join Super Draw.

I knew we'd have to pay for this new pitch one way or t'other.

I don't understand why there not white. Probably some health and safety requirements thing.

I've been whinging about this for years. Yellow looks atrocious and there's no requirement for it (check the Emirates Stadium for instance).

White please.

Oh I wonder why they've gone for yellow then, seems strange to say the least. White would look so much more seamless and classy.

When you say no requirement, it could be a decision prompted by the local Safety Advisory Group.

Aha. I just remember reading in one if Simon Inglis' books that it's not part of safety legislation. Maybe that's the answer.

Still offends my sense of aesthetics though. :)

I don't know that it definitely is, I'll endeavour to find out at some stage :)

Why has our pitch been done differently? Are we actually having Desso aswell?

I think it's been explained on here before, Desso can install in one of two ways. Either the grass seed goes in first and the artificial fibres after, or vice versa.

W*dnesday's was done with the fibres first, grass after. ours was grass first and now the machines have arrived to insert the fibres. That explains why our pitch looks greener than theirs.

Or something....although of course if you go on *wlstalk, there's hundreds of pages explaining how their's is the real deal and ours isn't :-)

Like most posters Trig, I'm a novice regarding this. You may not have the answer, but given that there are two ways of laying this surface, is one preferable, or do both achieve the same standard?
