Well said. I’m a Sheffield lad and this for all its faults is my home. But I love Brid and would love to live at the sewerby end.

When ms crab died I did toy with the idea of shipping over to the Algarve and just get driving on the airport transfers but I never did
Me too, love it round there,Flamborough ,Bempton along the cliff for the wildlife.

Bought my first house in North anston in 1991 aged 21.
I lived on Edinburgh drive behind the Williams bar . That became my local and Friday nights were in Hamiltons or bambies where gaz shanks was the d.j.
Got to know alot of the anston/Dinnington lads and Kiveton. One of anston blades hasn't missed a match in around 35 years .
Met my first wife from anston she was from behind the cutler.
I left after a year as I worked behind Don Valley stadium and it was taking me an hour to hour and half to get home after work so moved back to handsworth .

I'm a bit older than you and remember it pre-refurb, as the 'Wee Willie', a Youngers pub. The beer was shit then and remained so, all through the 80s, whenever I came back to Anston.
The Cutler used to run pig buses, but served a decent pint of Home Ales. Decent electric Waaards in Anston WMC, variable Trophy/Castle Eden in the Leeds Arms, but the bext beer in Anston was always the cask Tetleys at the Trooper.

I moved io Crookes in 87 and have only had the odd pint in Anston/Dinno/Kivvo, in the last 30 odd years.

Before moving to Thailand (1999) I worked in Dinnington for 28 years and used to drink in Leeds Arms, Cutlers, Loyal Trooper, The Gallows and Red Lion. In fact myself and sisters were evacuated to a Farm near Anston, during the second world war. Played for Swallownest Miners Welfare during the late fifties. UTB

Second World War - that ages you a bit! Hopefully you don't get to see a third one.
