Probably because I’ve been used to watching us dominate teams over the last 3 years, made watching that tonight a bit demoralising almost like wanting it to end.

I get that Livetpool are in a different level but can’t help but think we could have imposed on them a bit more in the 2nd half and gone shit or bust

Watching that tonight I got the impression from the players that they were thinking “Wow, I’m playing at Anfield against the Champions, I’m honoured”. Fuck that. I don’t think Chris Wilder will be overly impressed. I can’t fault this team obviously but tonight was a fucking bore.

I know what you’re saying. I’d have preferred us to lose 5-1 and show a little more attacking intent. But they really did snuff us out without really breaking a sweat.

In our system, we're drilled to be solid and keep shape, we aren't as well set up to press. We playing build-up, possession football That said, we'd be trying to press the current European champions and Premier League champions-elect. Still, be interesting to see if Wilder brings in players who help us to press in the window.

The difference between the two teams tonight was Sallah and Mané and one of those scored through a slip by Baldock. We did ourselves proud. February will be our big month.

You hit the nail on the head when you say you aren’t used to it. None of us are particularly used to it as football fans generally have short memories. Under my reckoning we’ve only been beat like that twice whilst Wilder was manager, the other game being the Wolves 3-0 game. It’s good that we’ve not had to go through a match like that in such a long time but playing with the big boys we may have to get a little more used to it.

The problem (for me) tonight was we didn't press how we normally press, Wilder has obviously given instructions not to press as we normally do because liverpools back four are good at picking balls in behind.

This completely nullified our midfield 3, they were completely out of the game for 90mins.

Klopp did a number on any attempt at us overloading the wings.

Early goal didn't help.

The subs did fuck all for me either.

Hendo MOTM closely followed by Basham.

World champions though, bring on West Ham when there'll be a rest and a guaranteed response.

I was more disappointed and angry after the Man City game and when we also played Liverpool earlier in the season.

Tonight we reached our ceiling... for now
This exactly.

No bullshit VAR decisions, no bitching and moaning. We were just thougrly outclassed today. We should take pride in the fact that we lost 2-0 and not 4-0 like Leicester.

Demoralising. Seriously ??

Couldn’t agree. No shame in that.

None.

UTB
Yeah seriously, not in that we lost but because I didn’t enjoy watching us have so little possession.

Like I said earlier I’m used to us having plenty of the ball and entertaining and I maintain that we didn’t show enough belief that we could cause them problems

We need some more points on the board sooner rather than later.

I think the result was to be expected, and we didn't lose as badly as other well established teams. Tonight's result and the Man. City result will not define our season at all.

Three more wins and a few draws and we will survive another season in the best league in world football, plus another £100m to invest in the squad and BDTBL.

I suspect this Liverpool team to dominate club football for a few more years to come. Premier League Champions elect, European and World Club champions 2019.

HH

Fulham gave us a right bumming too.

We all knew this month was going to be shite we could do with beating West Ham friday

- 4 goals against the current Champions Citeh and European Champions, World Club Champions and Premiership Champions elect Liverpool away is a great 180 minutes of damage limitation for me. Demoralising my arse! Some people need to get a fucking grip.

Think you are missing my point mate

We did press its just Liverpool pressed us better and won every 1st 2nd and at times won the a 3rd ball i did not even think existed :p

Disagree mate, understand your thoughts, but getting thumped 5-0 cos we came out could have had a adverse effect on moral.
A big percentage of the game is played in the mind, getting rimmed could whack confidence, we can leave heads high, knowing there are zero games left this season to fear
