Eye opening and very sobering.

It's human nature to a degree to assume certain things about wealthy people losing desire to work and develop a certain attitude. The Spurs documentary did him no favours either.

However, brave of him to come out and lay it all on the table. Hopefully we see him get back to where he was.

I appreciate his circumstances are a bit different but I wouldn't be surprised if sleeping tablet problems aren't an issue in the game.

I've had my own issues with them in the past to a lesser degree but the amount of times I've heard managers and players talking about taking them.

You can appreciate sleeping before a big game could be a problem but how often are they being dished out.

Warnock used to regularly talk about taking them and I even remember Stan talking about it on the old United series.

Not disagreeing with you Tazz it is sad to see having money probably makes it harder as im sure leeches will try to cling on to the money Alli has

But also, you don't sound like you've watched the video. Dele said his childhood trauma led him to being addicted to pills etc - he's just spent 6 weeks in rehab.

"Sort him out" is the wrong terminology.

I have watched most of it , he says his down-ward spiral started when mourinho left him out of the team

He said that he was partying around the time so clearly hes been dropped because of that

Then instead of changing he has continued on a down-ward spiral hopefully he sorts his self out to even get to play of enlgand with the stuff he is saying is an achievement

If anything Alli is a massive success story that someone can go through that as a child get adopted and end up as succesful as he is and was

Shocking what he went through as a child. The biggest thing from his interview that stuck with me was when he was talking about his upbringing. I thought he was going to say that he needed a parent that made sure he was in bed asleep by his bedtime.

I couldn’t believe it when he said that at 7 years old he had his own key and his mum wasn’t bothered what time he got home!

Unbelievable what some kids lives are like, make me realise how lucky I had it as a kid.

Incredibly sad but then again I have seen it with my own eyes just how tough some people have had it in their childhood and it continued through into adulthood it is heartbreaking.

But there is no support systems in this country because it takes years to get any proper support within the NHS the only ones fortunate enough to be able to get help are those that have deep pockets sadly.

Players need to be 100% to perform - that’s mental as well as physical. Everyone’s felt crap at work and not been at it, of course it’s going to be the same for footballers

The difference is mental health is not always visible the way physical injuries are.

First of all I think he is an extremely brave young man opening up. Probably part of the healing process after his rehab. Must have taken a lot of guts.

Would I take him? Hell yes with lots of caveats. Basic contract with playing, scoring and behavioural boundaries. There’s a reyt player in that lad and maybe the issues he’s opened up about were the cause of his decline.

Anyone think we would have taken him after his loan to MK Dons?

I doubt Everton would look to play him this season as a £10m fee comes in if he plays 7 more games. A loan somewhere does seem most likely unless they agree to a release given he’s out of contract next summer.
Personally I’d love him to come to us for a season, ideally not a loan but especially if we do lose Ndiaye but I can’t see it, and of course ideally I’d love both.

I think we could be a real good fit for him for the moment, especially if the Baldock story is true, although they’re often over egged, so maybe best not to put too much weight on that element.
Wether he really wants to try and get himself back on track with a relegation fighting side I’m not so sure. I can see one side whereby the camaraderie is a huge help regardless of results however there is also pressure and a huge negative side too.
Wherever he ends up I just hope he can piece his life back together and get playing to somewhere near his former levels. He was a very special talent and he admits he does love the game so I hope he gets what he needs from it. GLTTL.

It does feel like how his next club feels for him might be more important than wages or even level of competition. Was it Caulker who really struggled with depression and it badly disrupted his career before he went to Scotland and played a few more years relatively settled.
