Why should him looking for a new deal at his parent club mean we walk away? Because it will cost us more?

If you were in his position, I presume you'd say.."nah hang off on that extra 1m a year, I'd like to save Sheff U some cash".

He's apparently signed a deal for £50,000 a week. I don't blame him

But what could he have earned at United ? £35,000 - £40,000 ??? But he'd be playing every week and building himself a career and increasing his status.

We are supposedly picking up his entire wages whilst he's on loan so our deal should have been a permanent transfer or nothing.
The loan move is going to cost us close to £5 million for one season if the loan fee and wages are true.

I just think that for a bit more could have got either him or another goalkeeper on a permanent deal and not be in the same position next year

You have been impatient, it's here in black and white. You can't claim to be a part of a group of fans who've been "very patient". I don't know why you're denying being impatient.

It's the straw man thing with him. Knocking the Hendo deal is a great way to have a go at the club.

When I slag the club it's the owners and directors, it's been said often enough.

It's not just the club though is it. Plenty of posts on here slagging other fans who you have the nerve to call 'positives'. Most are just reasonable and prepared to give CW and the club a chance.

I don't believe you can be as relentlessly pessemistic as your posts appear. Bad as some of the club decisions have been over the last 15 years, there have also been some good ones and we are now back in the promised land. You see absolutely no joy in this, so for that reason I regard you as a troll on the wind up.

Strongly agree

I think you're forgetting the fact (despite it being told more than once), that Man U don't want to sell him.

But the miserable twats don't, so you're stuffed

Give over, like everyone else on this board, your hooked. You cant wait to read Topplayers posts to see what he's gonna say next
You love it, I am the entertainer, I bring the board to life

They'd sell him for the right price
And if they really really dont want to sell him we should have walked when he became obsessed with a new contract at Man Utd

That was always going to throw a spanner in the works in terms of expense and time

You can have as much money as you want ........
......
......

To fk off

Ok but dont let the club (sorry directors) do the negotiating please.
I want my future sorted pretty quickly and dont want to put up with their constant bullshit and bargain basement tactics

Good news if it comes off and it’s another major cog in the championships best defence returning!

United have been very patient. We had very little choice other than walk away or pay whatever was demanded, however ridiculous. The first is counter-productive and the second a road to disaster. What should we have done to relieve the agony of the aggressively impatient?

We made our interest crystal clear and would have signed him at any time from day one. All the obstructions and impediments have come at the other end. Perhaps direct your indignation towards Newton Heath rather than your own club?
so a threat of no deal works then. interesting :)

If this is true , I wonder what we ended up paying for the privilege ...
