surely they're not stupid enough to prevent this deal happening over a petty £1-2m

They are an international advertising platform with a football team attached. They gave Sanchez nearly £400k per week and as well as getting a massively underperforming player, pissed off their star player of recent seasons who was on about half that. That looks pretty stupid from where I sit.

Ed Woodward may be great negotiating with Nike and Chevrolet, but he is clueless about football. Odds on, this is the one where he will dig his heels and play hardball.

I also happen to think that Hendo and his wonder agent (who got him £50k per week) should be doing more publicly to push this through. He is untried in the PL and despite a good season last year, I'd happily go for an older keeper with more high level experience. If Hendo does well with us he is still Manyoo's player and will go back. If he does badly, we may well go down and nver see him again anyway.

Wilder has repeatedly said its the non-footballing people holding the deal up so why you and others have this negativity towards Henderson himself is baffling.
why? it's all about Henderson. his back room staff are nothing to do with us. it is ultimately up to him

I haven't got enough bad things to say about Man Utd but surely they're not stupid enough to prevent this deal happening over a petty £1-2m when they'll gain far more in his value after a season in the PL. And we're by far the best and most likely place for him to increase his value. It has to happen. Will be idiotic if it doesn't.
but they are going through one of their 'idiotic phases' . bit like the 70's

This is the way I'm starting to look at the Hendo situation, I rate him very highly, but as we saw with him last season and in the Euro Under 21s, he's not immune to the odd mistake himself. So is signing someone like Hart going to be vastly worse than Hendo? I'm not so sure.

I'm pretty sure that Henderson isn't telling Man U to make us pay his full wages and to give them a loan fee.

It's true that he's got the contract that he wanted, but to lay any blame on the deal not happening is unreasonable.
I presume he doesn’t mind who pays his wages

Just been on sky sports news too, for what little it's worth.

Dean is coming for a season long loan. Expecting official confirmation very soon. We'll see, I suppose.

Hendo wants games. He wants to play for us at least another season especially after helping us get up.

The people behind the deal, the finance guys, are now the problem. Man U agree it will be good for his development as we do but loans from Prem to Prem operate slightly differently to Champ. I think both finance teams are playing hardball at the mo. No one wants to see Henderson stagnate as third choice MUFC keeper and Hendo himself doesn't want to be second choice at another Prem club or be first choice at another champ club.

We are his and MUFC's ideal scenario but money is needed now we're in Prem and Hendo's value increases season upon season in today's market because of his age, England call ups and nationality.

Wilder won't throw away money but equally, it's too early to back down from negotiation so at the mo it's stalemate.
Great post.

However for those who just want signing signings signings this is far too rational and they must have someone to tale their frustrations out on, so Henderson has become that lucky person.

Bugger, too slow

HENDERSON SET FOR RETURN
Manchester United
goalkeeper Dean Henderson is to return to Sheffield United for a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old became a fans’ favourite after a successful loan spell last season when he helped the Blades win promotion to the Premier League.
With two weeks to go before the start of the season, England’s Under-21 goalkeeper remained at Old Trafford while United continued negotiations with David de Gea over a new six-year contract.
But we understand Henderson's return to Bramall Lane has been agreed and will be confirmed before the end of the week.

Finally.

All you impatient fuckers can wash the sand from your front bottoms now.

It's not done yet
Sky sports blabbing off doesn't mean it's a done deal

And there's nothing wrong with impatience at this stage, theres only two weeks to go before the season starts.

I think we fans have been very patient regarding this particular deal but the timescale prevents any further patience

The strangest thing, can make you erect, can't it....
I'm not sure as to whether it's Hendos return, or only 2wk until the season kicks off, and fucking tennis, and cricket can be forgotten!!

It’s gone on longer than Coronation Street this...

You haven't been patient at all, so you can forget pinning that badge to your chest.
