A good additioan to our midfield if he comes - think Doyle but with (far) more ability and a great partner for Basham/Coutts/Wallace.

All of a sudden we're starting to look decent in central midfield - physical, solid but with creativity.

Yes very true Boxer I was one of many fans who felt Hammond would have been a good fit for us,another one Atkins got wrong as he should have been in the know by October what was required to make us better than what we were.Hammond now has left under a cloud ( fleecing the club ) was it all his felt ?. Came with a reputation of being an excellent pro and leaves with his reputation badly damaged. Captained 3 clubs ( shows he's a leader ) and Adkins brings him in on really good wages,this is the point where you have e to blame Adkins .Did he do his homework on Hammonds fitness as his game was based on work rate ( never been a premiership standed player ) Adkins said more than once his work rate in our team was up there ( stats ) but he
Was slow one paced and covering the ground is not enough if things are happening quickly. Yep it looks like his legs had gone ( difficult for a pro to accept ) ,this is where Adkins made his mistake for it was his job to assess what Hammond had to offer !.
Was this and the signing of Sammon the main reasons for his sacking as an experienced manger and physio he shouldn't have got them two wrong.
It's history now but what a waste of a year that was.
Things looking a lot brighter for this season.
