I think we do have the staff and facilities to do that. We may also have a good opportunity to develop him as we will have a striker clear out post-relegation. Mousset will leave, and if Swansea go up they will buy McBurnie back i think.

That would leave: Sharp, Didzy, Burke, Brewster, Smith.

So it looks like we’d have a place for him, and even if McB stays i feel Smith may take Mousset’s place in the squad

I think Unsworth was alluding to an up front fee of £900k rising to £1.5m on various triggers. I think there is a 15%sell on clause in our favour.

Like yourself, I appreciate he had to go at the time but in my opinion we shouldn’t be selling any 19year old to an established premier league team for 900 grand. If they see enough potential to sign him then it stands to reason that they would be prepared to pay a bigger fee.

Tyler Smith is looking a good prospect so far at Swindon as well. Hopefully be around the first team next season, if we go down, which I think most of us are resigned to now!

His brother Ky Gordon is touted to have world class potential at CB as well. Lots of good talent in the U23's but a long way to go for them yet.

As for local lads, I've still got a lot of belief in Regan Slater, and he's a Gleadless lad! All from the right side of the city 😉

I'm so tempted to, to try and curse him...but I keep getting that feeling that we'll still get beat 4-0 but it'll just be that wazzock Iwobi or Richarlison or someone else!

We dont seem to have a good (recent) record of bringing through our Youth players, and then playing & developing them & actually keeping them.

We DO SEEM to have a good record of bringing through prospects and then selling them on & seeing them coached up/go unto England caps, play in Champions League etc.

So the question is:- Do we try & bring our own crop through and try & hold unto them. Maybe even take a relegation or lower mid championship finish without putting pressure on the manager to finish higher. (which translates into them signing experienced players and selling or loaning our youth) as they dont want to risk things.

That match was definitely a low point! I can’t remember DCL doing anything apart from an attempted header maybe in front of our fans.
 
Let’s hope he goes and it’s big money?
I think Everton only paid us about a million for him? If that’s right we should get quite a few bob?

Talented, but 54 in 214 games is hardly World beating, still he's got his pink Prada handbag and his own handbag collection so must be doing ok🙄

We should stop selling decent youngsters to Everton with a sell on fee. Jags was touted for big moves all his career and never left, same with DCL so far.

It’s also annoying that Maguire was sold for big money by Leicester and not Hull!

You could say that about most players, I agree, but he's their star man up front and at least 5 have been penalties
