Anyone know if there was a clause in the deal that took him to Everton about some pennies for us if he plays for England

Wasn’t he 5th or 6th choice striker.Looked like a lanky lightweight when he left us and wasn’t too bothered about him going.
He’s quite some player now though. Looks real quality and fabulous In the air too.
The list of quality players we have "given away" is endless.Nailed on to score against us I would say. Has everything we can’t deal with at the back - pace, power and finishing ability
wasn’t too sad when we let him go, didn’t think he looked like he could finish. BUT you could see he looked like a footballer and had all the raw attributes to succeed - had a top level players build. Credit to Everton and Dom himself for the development he’s shown.
if we hadnt we wouldnt have reached the premier league but do see your pointThe list of quality players we have "given away" is endless.
Not just talking about recent sales...it's been the same old story for me since the late 50'sif we hadnt we wouldnt have reached the premier league but do see your point
In a recent interview with David Unsworth he stated he couldn't believe how cheaply Everton got him for.Wasn’t he 5th or 6th choice striker.
The deal at the time was a no brainer for us....the bigger picture shows it was a fantastic deal because it helped contribute towards our promotion.
If he had stayed his developement would have been very different and DCL might now be plying his trade in the Championship.
I’m pleased for him....I’ve heard he’s a decent down to earth lad.
After seeing his performance in THAT Bury match, I'm still bemused he's developed how he has, because he was bloody awful that day.
A low ebb? HH, king of the understatementHard to fathom that with Adams in the line up as well we witnessed circa £75m of talent on that dreadful evening.
Just three shots in the match, none on target!
That was a low ebb, and puts our current plight in perspective. Less than five years ago.
HH
Did he say anything at the time or is this just hindsight? In a recent interview with David Unsworth he stated he couldn't believe how cheaply Everton got him for.
Because we've always been shit at negotiating. For me it started with Jones, Birchenall etc etc etcIn a recent interview with David Unsworth he stated he couldn't believe how cheaply Everton got him for.
I've never had a problem with us selling to 'survive' or 'reinvest' its the amount of money we have sold for thats the problem.
Has any club ever sold 3 players for a total of.less that 10m to see the said 3 be worth 200m at some point in the future?
It begs the question of how football savy the 'people' doing the negotiating were. If Unsworth could see the potential in DCL why couldnt anyone left at the Lane?
