Gets me all emotional and misty eyed watching this. If he'd only been patient for another season...………….

Notwithstanding the score on that wonderful day at the Sty, that nutmeg on Hunt was the best I've ever seen and worth every penny of the £42 ticket price.

Gerrim back !!
You see that and think yep..... not many blades like that tippy tappy crap and would prefer Lundstram.

It’s a shame we don’t have someone like that who can just run at the opposition and create a lot more chances.

Edit : apart from Basham

He’s top quality and if it wasn’t for his injury record I think he’d be with a top 6 club.

I’d like us to take a chance on him if we can because we are crying out for someone who can go past an opponent and create something out of nothing.

100%

It's only circumstances that MAY give us the chance to get him back for a year or two until we might have to sell him on again.

Desperate for this to happen. Seemed impossible even a year ago. Now it's actually plausible.

How is it plausible that Bournemouth loan to buy him next summer? They would look daft selling to us next summer if they come back up

Because a loan-to-buy is essentially just a way to financially structure a transfer.

Which has zero ( or a few million quid) benefit to the sellers until next summer. Can't see it myself when they could sell Joshua king if they need money...

But transfer fees are rarely paid all up front. So it's not necessarily any different in levels of money changing hands, but probably looks different on balance sheets etc.

Bournemouth could even have a clause that says if they get promoted the "buy" option is voided.

Who knows mate, maybe we'll just BUY THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY for £50mill, but just a fiver up front.

If Mcgoldrick is out for 6 weeks as rumoured we are light up front. I can think of worse replacements than Brooks to link midfield and attack like Didzy does, but I agree it looks like Bournemouth hold all the cards here.
True that. It is never ideal to buy anyone when everyone knows you are desperate. The best transfers are always when you don't need the player right now.

The main reason this has legs is that Brooks is simply far far too good to waste a year in the Championship, especially considering he missed last year as well. If the move happens it'll be because he's forced it, whether Bournemouth want it to happen or not. He didn't give us time, let alone a tiny club who'll have basically sold every half decent player bar himself this summer.

Im not a fan tbh but I can't deny it's a signing a lot of people want. Bit of a greedy luxury if you ask me though. Brewster probably maxed out what we can do.. But I can see claims of "no ambishun" being thrown around like toys out of a pram if it doesn't happen.
Let not do "a wednes*ay" eh.. :)

What or whoever someone is needed to fill McGoldricks spot. TBH think relying on Didsy coming good in one of two positions is the root of out MF issues. Don’t think Brooks or Benrahama will happen. Worried we will go for a cheap stand in for 2 months and be lumbered with another average squad player. Can’t see anyone stepping up to 10 shirt, shame we got rid of Freeman. The PL conspires to f**k us over once again.

Said Ben Benrahama mooted at £17m to Wet Sham. Bargain. Where's Banana comments on this.😎

Bournemouth have clawed back about 80 million in transfer fees + players like Fraser off wage bill without signing anyone. I doubt they would need to risk it.

I'm confident in the talents of Ndiaye and Cappello and hope that at least one of them is given a chance either this season or next. Nowt major at first obviously, just a couple of sub appearances, get them up to standard. Both fantastic, creative, attack minded, advanced midfielders.

Back the academy! Some ballers in there!

Have they had loan experience in L1 or above?

They haven't, no. Granted, they're unproven at higher levels but it'd be nice to see them given a chance.

Based on CW's comments RE: Hackford before the season started, it's obviously going to be next season at the earliest, but still...Nice to look to the future.

Could be sat on another Calvert-Lewin.

Our own fault for letting him go cheap, most of us knew he was worth way more
