If this is true I suspect it will rumble on right until the 16th.

He's a proper sick note.. Would be crazy to sign him on anything other than a loan.
I'd also say if anything his price should have dropped from what we sold him for. He's done nothing.

I’m the same, love him as a player. But he’s never going to play every game. It’s not like he’s nesh, but he’s always going to be susceptible.

Do we have a hefty sell on fee? Buy back? Relegation clause? A fit brooks...fantastic. but I fear he will be another Wilshire

Just playing devils advocate here,
What would Bournemouth get from loaning one of their better players and biggest assets to us?

Reports are they need to drop the wage bill. They save on his wage and get a fee without losing him if they come straight back up.

If they didn't come back up his value would be higher after more premier league games than a season in the championship.

They are massively weakening their chances of bouncing straight back up though without him, and parachute payments are litterally their to help pay higher earners wages.

You make a good case but going from £40m to Man U, to going on loan to us for nothing seems too steep of a change around.

Just had a message off one of my best mates who knows a mate of DBs and says it's a real goer!

Gobsmacked personally and obviously no guarantees as I don't know the source myself.

‘One of your best mates who knows a mate of DB’ could secure Tier 1 status if this actually happens.

I can't remember the exact amount but I think someone on here posted the wage bills for clubs and theirs was beyond saving with parachute payments. It's why they are selling all their top players. I read the fee for king will be negligible the closer to deadline day we get.

It seems interest in him has cooled given his time out Injured. If 40 mill was on the table I'm sure they would prefer that.

If I was looking at it as a fan or even manager I'd agree and say he would help get us back up at the first chance. As an owner who wants to cut the money whilst still maintaining best value I'd say loan him out and either keep or sell for better value next year.

They’re owned by a billionaire, and FFP or whatever they call it now is absolutely fucking toothless.

They’ve now achieved that having sold/let go 15 players inc Ake, Wilson, Fraser, Rammers and King set to leave before end of TW....I can’t see any benefit to them letting DB out on loan and therefore believe this has 0% of happening.

I don't believe it will happen either but the reasons I posted above would be good enough reason to.

For the very first time JL94x4 I think you might just have guessed right.....I can see us making a loan enquiry if no one else comes in.....
I suggested a loan for him a while ago but it was just tongue in cheek. It would be purely down to the player wanting Premier league football but everyone was expecting a move to Liverpool or spurs. Bournemouth were after matt Ritchie but he is injured so won't be going so it might block this till January

Remember if we are interested we have until the 16th

I’m I bovvered? My instant flash of memories about DB is of him turning a Pig inside out and him on crutches. Is he Mr Glass?
I think the addition of Brewster has not only got us a good young striker it’s elevated the attractiveness of SU. Add to that high profile signing of Rammers and the high profile signing of Welsh international Amadu as well as a deeper squad we now look a more attractive proposition.

A good result tomorrow will lift us up the table and who knows who might come in, is Wilders name dropping a smoke screen? Does he mean he can only dream cause it’s out of our reach? Is our business over?

He might shock us all with an overseas, EFL before 13th or there might be nothing, whichever it’s been a great window and if we can get moose back ASAP and JOC before next year we should be in good shape.

Whenever I've seen him play more centrally he's struggled and he always looked far more comfortable with more space out wide or able to roam as a second striker.
Therefore, if by some miracle the rumours are true and CW is somehow able to land him, I'd imagine he'd be earmarked to play RCM or off McBurnie/Brewster.
BTW did you realise you've dropped Fleck from the side?

Would be for this signing. However, a think a loan with an option to buy makes more sense given his injury record and the uncertainty surrounding finances, post-Covid/if we were to go down.

If it is true, perhaps this is an indication we are going back to a 10? We haven’t created near as much since we switched to a 3 in the middle.

Nobody has mentioned that Man Utd are signing Cavani... Which bizarrely might make a Sheffield United transfer/loan more possible.

All these people betting on Brooks coming here are very, very silly. Wasting their money. There's no way we are spending anymore significant money. If we get him, it will be a loan... And loans don't count on the betting market. So that means people are betting on us spending AT LEAST >£20m. Not a chance.

Cavani? He's older than me, and I have to roll out of bed in a morning.
As crazy as it sounds Brooks is probably the cheaper option to Sancho, but that would really piss the Man U fans off.
