Prem Quality?

I dont know. You should be looking at a few better players with past prem experience if you are wanting to stay up

TBH, with your team at the minute, cant really see you doing that well

They've got no chance of getting Carson.

Where being linked with new keepers all the time

Its now Tony Warner from Fulham

Looked a decent player when he was needed last season, but im unsure if he could maintain good form

And being honest, we WILL finish in the top 10 next season.

And the Czech Republic WILL win the World Cup ;) hehe

Mirror reports weve agreed a loan deal to permanent move (£1.5m) for him

quality defender, i dont say this often, but well done blackwell - now give killa what he wants!

Good player for this league, wouldn't necessarily say he's a quality defender though. Morgs and Shittu, there's a no nonsense pair to conjure with !

Remember him picking up the ball in defence in his QPR days at the Lane and charging down the full length of the pitch leaving about 6 of our players in his wake before losing the ball. When he was at Blackpool, Steve McMahon once said he could head the ball further than the rest of the squad could kick it.

If this is true, I assume he's actually going to be Kilgallon's replacement after January.

Morgs and Shittu thats a no nonsense pair'....my reading 'Morgs and Shittu thats a no pace pair'...if we sign Shittu surely that means Killa is off as Shittu won't be swapping a premiership bench for a championship bench? If the £1.5m reported is correct why don't we use that money to bump up Killa's wages as Shittu isn't going to come for peanuts!!

The best centre half signing we can make is Killa!!!

Anybody got any inside info on what Killa's asking for? I'm all for making him a top offer but not so far in front of everybody else to cause problems.

we need at least three decent CBs and it's only a matter of time before Morgs or Killa aren't available.

Oh, I agree, but that won't stop us selling Killa in January if we can get Shittu in now.

United would not spend 1.5 million on a defender if they were going to keep Kilgallon. It's Henderson/Beattie all over again.

I think it's a cover all options move. If Killa stays we can re-assess the Shittu situation, if he doesn't we can offer Shittu a permanent deal. As discussed in the Killa thread yesterday, I think Killa would be happy to stay providing we're up there challenging at Xmas and likewise, Shittu may be happy moving to us even if he wouldn't be guaranteed a start.

Shittu may be a Prem player but hardly established so I don't think his wage demands would be anymore than our current top earners.

I think Killa has already gone to a Premier League club, Blacky has just persuaded him to stay on until Xmas.

To be honest, I don't immediately believe it.

Additionally, what with our loan numbers already on the cusp, I'd prefer us to get a loan striker and bring in Fortune on a free.

And we promptly went up the other end and scored as well.

I'm all for defenders bringing the ball out of defence, just not like that...

I wouldnt have thought that Shittu would sign for us to sit on the bench, not at his age, so either Kilgallon must be leaving or he reckons he can get a game ahead of Morgs.

I would agree with this especially, if the reports are true, we are picking up all his premiership wages and have offered a permanent deal in January.

It was asked earlier in the thread, why don't we use the money to up Killas wages, once again I would agree and can only speculate that United don't think Killa will sign and are lining up cover for when he goes OR (and I really hope this bit of conjecture is true) at the moment Killa is in really strong position as we have little or no cover if he sees there is cover it may help to "force his hand" into putting pen to paper.

I believe, however, he will be on his way.

Another reason for Killa (or his agent) stalling is that, let's say he has a good offer on the table from Hull or Stoke or Wigan or whoever. Let's say come December we're 2nd in the League 8 points clear of 3rd and the prem team are in the bottom 3 8 points adrift. What would he do ? Terms and conditions of contracts can be changed in an instant, I think he has half an eye on next season as much as he does the terms on the table.

Looks like Shittu is sitting for a while,he was sent off last night in a reserve game against Blackburn resulting in a last minute penalty.

I have to agree, but from now to whenever Killa leaves I am worried that most managers although Warnock became much better at is that when they sign a player for big money (i.e not freebies like Reid & France) they feel determined to play them regardless and will change the entire side around as to accomodate all the big names. I could quite easily see Blackwell playing

LB Killa CB Shittu CB Morgan RB Walker

I dunno, that back four might be better but if it ain't broke don't fix it - I understand his problem as we are very light at CB and only average or unproven players will be willing to come to us to sit on the bench.
