Yep, nice little piece.

Certainly was. About 5 minutes which can't be argued with on a day of a nearly full PL fixture list. Nice bit of symbiosis (?) I thought. Dan Walker accompanied the saintly Jess on her one and only trip to the Lane and is a Sheffield lad. Resident clown Lawrenson has Oxford connections and Dean Saunders played for both the Blades and Oxford so the Sheffield-Wilder-Oxford link came across well.
Good piece and well worth catching up on iPlayer from midnight tonight.
Certainly better than listening to that self-important cunt Lineker.
Once again, though most of it was pitchside on a non-playing day, I can't help thinking 'What the fuck are we doing in the third tier for 6 years?' It's a fantastic grounnd and the support is amazing. To borrow from Barca, United are Més que un Club - More than a Club, something Billy alluded to.

FACT -

Dan Walker is a decent bloke who supports Crawley.. Has a slight lean towards them lot as his wife and her family support them.....

Straight from the horses mouth

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how far into it the segment is so I can skip the bullshit on iPlayer?

Is it on iPlayer yet? I was just taking the missus and her lad out for Saturday lunch when a plethora of Facebook messages arrived saying, "Just seen you on the telly!"

Some interesting looking archive footage from outside the ground in the 70s. Not seen that before.

Amazed that BBC found footage of him being a ball boy when he chucked the ball towards Oxford's Gordon Hodgson who was about to take a throw in! For some reason the SUFC MOTD video (produced in 1991) didnt include John Matthews's goal in the same match - we won 3-1 and the video only showed Oxford's penalty opener and our first two goals. It was good to see Matthews goal for the first time since Sept 1979 and one for WalthamstowBlade to include in his 1979-80 video!

Anyone got it recorded?

Nice to see something positive about us in the media. Would have been nice to see some goaLs from this season rather than one from bottler Matthews in that abomination of a shirt. Loved the 70s stadium footage though, real goosebumps moment for us old farts.

For anyone catching up an iPlayer, it's at the back end of the hour. Worth a watch.

I enjoy the way Wilder fixes his stare on the people he talks to. This is one intense bloke when he needs to be.

My sister said exactly the same at the fans forum at Handsworth.

Thing is JD, if the stare accompanied a request for sex, would you melt or run screaming?

If he gets us promoted I'll do whatever he wants...

But if I was a footballer, I'd know I couldn't bullshit a boss like that. It's a look that just says "don't you dare".

Yeah. Good presenter, sports or otherwise. Was great on the beach in Rio.

Deffo porky preference. Remember seeing an article for a steel city derby where he stated that. Not a deluded porker, though. Roots not in the area, which may be why. Did he study in Sheff then?

He did his broadcast journalism Masters at Sheffield Uni. When I did my undergrad he gave a guest lecture at St George's church for us - absolute top guy. He's a Crawley an and refuses to work Sunday's because he's a bit churchy.

Great guy
