But we'll soon put that right when on Weds night when the out of form Peterborough come to BDTBL and if we don't we will all our games in hand as we always do.

It's a good job we're no longer in the relegation picture isn't it? I'd be really worried else.

We are too big a club to go down relax, I know we have been relegated in every relegation fight we have gone into since 1976, but that is not going to happen this time, definitely not, certainly not, it won't happen..

...will it?

You can't predict how we're going to perform in any particular game at the moment. We're like a crazy ex-girlfriend.

Recently: terrible performance against Oldham; fantastic against Tranmere; threw a lead away at Walsall; outstanding at Villa; then threw away leads yet again against Notts County and Bradford.

Erratic is probably the word for it.

So on that it's a resounding 3-0 win on Wednesday then v Posh? Brayfordinho with three assists.

I've got that sinking feeling. Woaah that sinking feeling.
I've got that sinking feeling, now it's brown brown brown trouser time.

Good job the entire bottom half of the league are shite.

I'd like to think we could get rid of the deadwood without going down. It would be mortifying!!

This is key really isn't it. OK we have brought some new blood in but if it doesn't gel quickly we really are looking at being the biggest club in League Two (Division 4) again.

Its really too tight to call and while I like a bit of optimism the realist in me thinks we have already had new manager effect and a decent run, if we don't go on another one soon we are going down.

Why so dismissive? Because its a genuine fear you don't wish to confront?

Bladesway, most of us on here are realistic and have a genuine fear that we could be relegated.

Suggesting that it could be good for the club is plain madness.

Think of the positives. Loads of new grounds to visit, cheaper tickets etc etc...
Porter hitting double figures? That's definitely a glass half full comment!!

Have some of you been on the piss?

Relegation would be good for the club? What absolute bollocks,it would be catastrophic.
Been on a crack pipe more like!!

Who ever thinks being relegated is an option to welcome is talking bollox , I fear about being relegated and the untold damage it would do to our club , don't think we will as I now trust the manager we have in charge , with the players he's bringing in , if we were to go down would like the charge of the light brigade with the amount of players that would leave us , and while some would welcome the clearing of the " deadwood " be no use when here playing kids and has been's and never will be's which is all that would come to us in the 4th , been there before and have no wish to ever return .

We would absolutely piss League 2. Even with Chris Porter up top.

We'd have some silverware to put in the trophy room at last.

Might even get a giant killing of Walsall in the JPT.

Ever thought of entering the British Angling Championships?

No it isn't its an opinion as valid as the next. I don't agree that it is for the good by the way but the amount of short term thinking from most football fans seems to make any relegation an apocolyptic drama of Ridley Scott proportions. It is just another depth we have plumbed. Other clubs have been there and others will follow. We perhaps need to get some heads out of arses and accept we are plain shit and this has been coming for some time in the eyes of some.

Same answer to you. Don't dismiss it so readily just because you don't agree with it. The opinion isn't without merit.

We were always going to drop into the bottom three today, (which is one of the reasons I would rather be playing in the League this weekend, but I am not getting on that hobby horse again) However the results didn't go too badly for us, a point against Peterboro and we leap up about 3 places, a win and its about 5 places.

Getting the point or win may be the tricky thing however.

Seems to me lots of sarcasm early on in this thread got taken the wrong way? I don't think anyone thinks it would be, all in all, a good thing if we got relegated.

Lots of the comments early on were 'ho ho we've been here before haven't we' kind of jokes which I quite enjoyed :)

Exactly! Although my sarcasm appears to have sparked a genuine debate which can be no bad thing.

Personally I think the idea that relegation is good is absolute twaddle, that line was peddled last time and we've been in continual decline since.
