Ah, got you.
Just wish they'd get o with deciding.
Mind you, until HMG declares the rules, there's no point the club making any ST announcements is there?
That's the thing...why do they need to get on with it or decide? Nobody knows how many fans or when so beats me why teams are selling Season Tickets? They are saying they will be valid for future seasons but it might be years before stadiums are fully opened up. Seems clubs just want the money for a product they cant even offer. I get they are businesses but not sure you'd pay say a grand for a holiday where the flighrs are not running/accomodation to say Disney Land and it is not available per say (bad example as know you can go abroad to places) and they will just keep it for you for when you could go in a few years but no idea when it will be or even if you can have the full holiday?!
When fans are allowed in reduced crowds they will look at a system so hopefully as many of us go to at least a few games but we are talking a handful of games maximum between now and next August if it us done fairly to allow families to attend together etc.
It's not like they need to even sell season tickets really. They should sell or do renewals when they can fill 20,000+ and do it based on 19-20 seats and guarantee people their seats if they want them for 21-22 or whenever full crowds are back.
For this coming season though I feel they should just rotate games with a small number of games for every 19-20 ST holder/member. I think just giving the 8,000 or whatever it will be to those with the most points (I'd be one of those) is not the right way to go about it and would make it a very closed shop. Fans would rotate seats around anyway without strong ID checks. I think give every one the chance to see a match or two.
As someone who goes to all the home games and two thirds away so like 30 games a season I am not going to lose any sleep over a few games we may attend in the next 12 months. If I get to go to some great but if not I'll not be as devastated as I thought I might be.
Some of those who have been to every game home and away for years and have 60,000 points plus won't like it but under the system above they will have to miss maybe half or two thirds of the games. I am sure they will argue they should see more or all the games but we are talking maybe 13-15 home games possibly by the time we get back. I would rather the 30-35,000 ST holders/members see maybe a few games each and it be rotated. This keeps a larger majority of our fan base happy too and families can attend otherwise you are going to have a lot of older fans and predominantly the sane fans at every game...also not sure that works if the govt are asking us to keep in family bubbles etc.
Be weird not being at the ground for games when others are but that would still be fairer. Just my opinion.
I can't see it being till towards the end of October at earliest as only just opened up small crowds at non league so a huge jump to even go to 10,000-20,000.
As I say going to games with league cup style gates and atmospheres with set entry/exit and a good bulk of pals who won't be able to go/meet is going to be nowhere near the same but it is better than nothing.
Just hope by 21-22 season we may be close to capacity. I do think it may be a few years before away fans are allowed back sadly.
