When you look back over a season it's whether those days are the aberration or the norm. So far, the norm is us winning those games.

Every time we've been doing poorly you get the odd good game and go "If we played like that every week we'd be fine". Even in the last Prem season we caused that upset at Old Trafford.

He missed a push on Norwood for their goal though and they seemed to get most of the 50/50 calls but he was reasonable overall.
Another reason to want McBurnie back. We've been letting him hang free to attack the ball when defending set pieces and we look a lot weaker at them without him doing it. Feels a bit negative me wanting a striker back for his defensive work but it's not a job Sharp is going to do for us. Can't rely on refs.

Thought the referee was excellent last night.
After the horror show in the 3-3 at the Lane, thought he handled it really well and not even a yellow card all game.

Sometimes it's the players that have a massive effect on the perceived refs performance.

Take the Sheff Utd v Norwich game. When we were putting them under pressure in the 2nd half.
Norwich were hoping to slow the game down, break the game up by going down for fouls. So the most minor contact and their players fell down. The ref didn't give a free kick and their players would then crowd the ref whilst their player was rolling around injured.

In that game in order to keep the peace.....the ref stopped making independent assessments and would give one decision to Sheff Utd then the next decision to Norwich.
So both sets of players become angry and he was constantly getting booed by both sets of fans.

However the players on both sides were constantly using gamesmanship trying to rial each other.

Think we,ve found our way of grinding results by having less position ,this gives a bit more counter opportunities.

I honestly thought he made quite a lot of mistakes, mostly to their benefit.

Not as bad as the linesman doing their forwards second half though, Jesus. Completely unable or unwilling to keep up with play.

That lino missed several Blackpool offsides because he was way behind play. When he was harangued by outraged Blades, he just kept shaking his head, to confirm he was right and they were wrong.
