Sorted terrace tickets last week for me and two mates.
I was told all the seating tickets (just under 300 I think) are sold out already so it looks like we'll have a decent following, a great effort in view that it's the last weekend before Christmas and a round trip of over four hundred miles from Sheffield.
Are the usual suspects off this forum making the trip? We're taking the train from London Victoria and there are some good pubs in Crawley as we stayed in the town the night before we played Burnley in the play off final.
Hope to see a few familiar faces there again.

Not sure at the moment mate. Most probably, but will have to see how much christmas shit i get sorted between now and then....

Bought mine from BDTBL box office yesterday morning (been staying the weekend at the Copthorne)

Any idea on kid-friendly pubs? I'm bringing jnr pommpey (now 25) and jnr/jnr pommpey and would like something a bit nicer than the Green Man at Wembley last May which put the fear of shite up her.

Me, BladeInThatcham and moDtheGod are guin. We'll be drinking in either the Brewery Shades or Swan (or both). Never been to Crawley before, but these pubs are in the real ale guide. Reckon I'll stay around for a few Christmas ales afterwards. Trains back to London are regular and run pretty late (til gone 11). I'll be getting on the train at Clapham Junction. Probably heading down fairly early-ish (10/11) to meet Thatcham.

Should be there; well got a ticket but meant to be an xmas weekend with wife and little un as we are all in London.
Mention Crawley last minute me thinks.

Either that or I will say I need to go and do her Xmas shopping for a few hours and head off!

Going to get train from Victoria around 1ish - gets in about 1.45pm. How far is ground from station? Not too bad going as should have plenty of time but could do with being back in 'that' London sharpo. There is a train back to Victoria at 17.30ish I could do with getting for obvious above reasons!

Are we all converging on a muster point, then? Someone call it, eh? Time? Location?

Reminds me of Oxford Utd in the nineties with the old Viewpoints lot. It fucking PISSED down but we won away ....

We're down to London on the early Megabus (into Victoria coach station for 10.30am), breakfast somewhere near Victoria, then train from Victoria to Crawley.

We've gotta get back to near St Pancras pretty sharpish after the match to deliver someone to their train home, but me & Linz are in London for the weekend, so probably out somewhere central that evening.

I remember a game where it pissed down and we lost 4-1.....

Third away game of the season for me and third new ground of the season to tick off. As per, going with Handsworth Blades, should be there for early dinner time, haven't got a clue if we'll be supping in Crawley or somewhere closeby. Shades of Bournemouth away last season, should be a good 'un.

I've taken the part time option and won't be there. In the absence of myself, Sheff de party and SwissBlade it's over to you lot to make sure you colonise a corner of the local real ale boozer and introduce all the friendly locals to United songs. Don't rely on Ollessendro or moDtheGod either, they'll probably disappear straight after the game.

I'll be at Scunthorpe and Hartlepool though if any other LBs are going: the Rutland is the pre-match boozer of choice.

Don't tar me with the same brush as that nesh Derbyshire tosser. When have I ever lefty straight after the game??!

I'm taking a stance and refusing to go to this one on the grounds of the fact that Sheff de party won't be going and therefore there won't be a random female blonde aussie housemate for us to drunkenly letch over and teach Blades songs to...

I will however be attending such matches as Tranmere (home) and Scunny (home) before disappearing back to Switzerland...

I'm driving down to this one, taking 3 others down and we're all on the terrace.

Having to choose my games carefully but this one was never in doubt for me!

Should be interesting this one ......

I think that was on a Boxing day, if not the first day after.
Remember it well not only for the score but getting soaked as well.
UTB

It was the we "couldn't cope with Matty Phillips" day on 14th December 1996. We lost 4-1, our goal being a last minute consolation from Andy Walker.

The funniest moment of the game was Oxford's second goal. Patterson handled the shot either on or just over the line. The ref had to consult his linesman to ascertain if the ball had crossed the line, pursued by Patterson insisting it was in as, if it wasn't, it would have been a pen and a sending off. As it happened, the goal was given and Patterson got a yellow only.

Martin Aldridge, not Matty Philips. He got a first half hattrick. He died in a car crash a few years later.

The big problem that day was Matt Elliott, who was outstanding and caused us no end of problems at both ends of the field.

I saw 3 away games close together around that time. The weather for each:

QPR (lost 1-0): cold and rain
Oxford (lost 4-1) freezing, with a biting wind
Palace (won 1-0) freezing, with horizontal sleet.

The Oxford game when it threw it down was the 2-0 win in 1998-9. Easily the wettest I've been at a game.

You're right. It was Matt Elliott I was thinking of.

In a word, no. Revolution senior will be racking up ground number 80 something, though.
