ABSTRACT

Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) strain isolated from an oropharyngeal swab sample from a female patient with COVID-19 who was infected in Hamburg, northern Germany.

The issue i have with this is, in my 20s and no health issues; it's (currently) nearly impossible for me to get 2 vaccines by the opening game.
I signed up for a vaccine the day i was given the ability to; but that 8 weeks lands me the week after the first game.
So, after locking down and complying with every rule the government have set out; i'm not allowed to go the match because i am simply too young and healthy.
(That isn't a dig at the government vaccine rollout; which i think does make sense - it is instead a criticism of the supposed plan by the EFL.)

Hes right though ,you dont have to wait 8 weeks

For what it’s worth; after being turned away from 3 walk-in centres for it not being minimum 8 weeks since my first; i finally managed to find a walk in centre that would give me the second dose.
Roll on the 7th!

Just had to submit a LFT to obtain a Covid Pass for tramlines this weekend.

What an absolute farce. You don't have to show proof the test was negative, you just log the Serial Number of the test online then tick a box to say if it was positive or negative.

So basically, we're relying on the British Public to tell the truth 😂 what a joke

For various reasons I've done 4 LFTs. On each occasion I've questioned (in my own mind) how valid it has been. Do I know for certain I've obtained a suitable sample and and even though the control line shows red, does that just mean that some fluid (of some sort ) has passed over the line?

As you say it just relies on the public to be honest. I suppose the fact you have to log the serial number means you have to at least have the kit - whether you use it or not is a different matter.

Do you mean there's some fiendish hack to get round that system? ;)

It's United v Wednesday in FA Cup Quarter Final next season. You feel absolutely fine but the LFT comes back positive... Which box you ticking to submit your result?

Here is the logic. It's not my logic. But it's the logic. An increasing number of posters are detailing their experiences of using self reported lateral flow tests as "proof" of reduced risk of Covid transmission in order to attend events. I'll sum up as - it's hit or miss, you can choose your own result if you really want to attend the event, it's ridiculous.

In earlier & current days, before the whole of the adult population had/have the chance to be double vaccinated, there was/is little choice but to allow a Double Vaxxed Pass OR a self reported negative lft as "proof" at an event. Although that will reduce risk, it's clearly sub optimal.

That is why "from September" the Government will pursue either .... let all comers into events OR require a Double Vaxxed Pass or Exemption ... logically it seems unlikely they will continue to accept a self reported negative lft once everyone has been offered two jabs.

There is another way of looking at it. Either "the vulnerable" "the wary" can be asked to take the hit for the team, not attend events and "let the rest of us get on with our lives".

Or. "the choose not to be vaccinated" "the wary of the vaccine" can be asked to take the hit for the team, not attend events and "let the rest of us get on with our lives".

Well put.

I think the third option is, accept the numbers of un-jabbed are so low, and pose so little overall comparative risk, let everybody get on with their lives.

I'll be jabbed up, but support peoples right to not have one and it not infringe on what they can do.
If it was Ebola, or we hadn't got on top of CV, then different story imo.

As I've just said in my latest post, I'm epileptic. There is zero evidence anywhere that this vaccine does or does not interact with epilepsy medications. So I'm being discriminated on my medical history.

Still, fuck em eh? Just get the fuckin jab.
Your personal choice and probably not the right place to discuss this however I suffer from myoclonic jerks (a form of epilepsy) I am on a high combo of Keppra and Epilim to control my symptoms along with Clobazam on the odd occasion too. I spoke with my neurologist via my GP to make sure everything would be fine. He gave the go ahead on Astra Zeneca, I am 34 and was fine with both doses, only a small arm ache after the 1st. Again it's personal choice but if you want to have it. Get some reassurances first from your specialist. I hope this helps if you want to chat privately DM me

Trouble is that plenty on here still think it's Ebola and believe that footage of people collapsing in the street back in the day, rather than weaker than flu for the vast majority of those of working age and maybe a little bit more harmful after that.
