I'm not injecting drugs with unknown long term effects into my system to protect against an illness that's less likely to kill me than my commute to work, thanks
I know I'm not going to change your mind, but for balance and for others who may be in two minds and don't feel as safe as you, mRNA vaccines have been studied for 3 decades and used in things like flu treatment and vaccines for Zika and Rabies, the way in which they work hasn't been found to cause any long term side effects in 30 years. Where side effects are found, they're usually picked up in a couple of months. There's already millions of people who have the vaccine and it is overwhelmingly more safe to take than to not have the vaccine.

You may feel healthy yourself, but you lower your chances of catching it and passing it on to others, and also the risk of severe illness if you were to have an unknown underlying health condition.

One of the main public health risks associated with easing restrictions and mixing in crowds again, is that the virus could circulate with lots of vaccinated people, therefore giving it the chance to mutate so that it becomes resistant to the vaccines we have.

I work in public health and see the data daily showing the positive impact of vaccines, it really is a no brainer for me. The people dieing and being hospitalised are those who aren't vaccinated. The people still spreading it are largely those who are not vaccinated

But how long would it take to have things checked or scanned by turnstile operators? There's already about 50 people per steward, and then they're checking bags on top of QR codes, on top helping out folk who STILL don't know how to use the turnstile, on top of helping out those whose cards aren't working properly. 3pm kick offs you'd need to start queueing at 130. Logistically this is a nightmare.
It's not practical. Needs a steward on every turnstile. Do they check a QR code that links back to check, or just look at the screen?
People with flat phones, giffers with no phone etc. Chaos.

3pm kick offs will be 5pm kick offs when they cant get anyone through the gate. You can't even get 3g 4g 5g or even H when the ground is full. I imagine most will forget to screenshot.

How dare you state facts and accurate info on covid related matters. Shame on you sir 🤫

🤣

Get the NHS app (not the track and trace app), you'll need to creat an account and need your NHS number, but you can get that on .gov.uk, just Google 'find my NHS number'.

The app is where you get your covid pass from if you're entitled to one. The info page says the following:

NHS COVID Pass

How can you get one?

You can get an NHS COVID Pass if you've been tested, vaccinated, can prove natural immunity after having contracted COVID-19 - or if you fall into one of the exempt categories.

Testing

You have a negative LFT or PCR test taken within 48 hours of reporting. This can be done either at a testing site (where reporting is automatic) or at home and self-reported via the 'Register my test result' service.

Once you have registered your LFT test, it can take up to two hours for your result to show but is often a lot quicker.

Vaccination

It's 2 weeks since receiving your second dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.

Once you have been vaccinated, it can take up to 5 days for your records to show.

Natural immunity

If you've previously tested positive for COVID-19 using a PCR test, and it's been at least 10 days since your positive result, you are eligible for a NHS COVID Pass for up to 180 days from the test date.

Exemptions

You may have taken part in a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial or you have a medical exemption.
Tell me more about these exemptions...

If a Covid passport is going to be required, then the way forward is for season ticket holders and members to make the ticket office aware that they’ve been double jabbed, so that their ticket can be activated for the full season. It will require day ticket buyers to provide proof at the point of purchase. Then all the stewards need to do is random checks at the turnstiles.

My kids also work in healthcare, and have seen an increase in clotting issues and guillain barre syndrome since the vaccine programme.

You can argue all day that the benefits outweigh the risks, but until a full review has been done on these comparatively new vaccines, I think it's perfectly acceptable for people to have the choice.

I got my second jab in May in Brussels and renewed my season ticket. Turns out that the UK doesn’t doesn’t accept EU certificates. Happy days.

The people who dont want the vaccine have not had full covid. I tell you what if they get it l they will wish they had taken the vaccine. My wife and I had it last October but we didnt need to go to hospital and it was horrendous - six weeks it lasted plus another six weeks to get over Long covid and like I said we didnt need to go to hospital. Didnt feel "right" till just after Xmas.

Double vaccined now and glad of it. These people who dont want it might have a choice doesnt mean to say they are making the right one.

The issue i have with this is, in my 20s and no health issues; it's (currently) nearly impossible for me to get 2 vaccines by the opening game.
I signed up for a vaccine the day i was given the ability to; but that 8 weeks lands me the week after the first game.
So, after locking down and complying with every rule the government have set out; i'm not allowed to go the match because i am simply too young and healthy.
(That isn't a dig at the government vaccine rollout; which i think does make sense - it is instead a criticism of the supposed plan by the EFL.)

Yeah, this is going to be a huge problem. Went to a couple of NFL games in the US a couple of years back where they have solely app-based mobile ticketing, you can't just take a PDF or a screenshot. Didn't work at the gates either time
With the NHS App you can download a version of your event pass or you can have it sent to you by email. It lasts for one month from creation.

You can - you just need a test in the 48 hours before the game.

I agree that Covid can be a nasty bastard if you get it, I'm uncomfortable with the "mandatory" aspect of it. I think we're in danger of hijacking a thread discussing the passport issue around BDTBL entry, so i'll leave it there.

I did a lateral flow test for the England Semi and self reported to get the pass. Could have totally lied about the outcome too in order to get the pass.

Suspect we'll just follow suit.

Anything done will be for show anyway.

They couldn't do the supposed checks for the Burnley game so no chance with up to 10 times that many.
