I don’t mind fans of any club posting on here, if they’re fair and reasonable, it’s the ones who come on (not exclusively Cov fans, well it’s mostly pigs really) and just offer nothing to debate and throw out childish insults.

What’s the point?!

Anyway, think Cov might do ok next year, I expect them to get relegated but don’t think they’ll be threatening Derby’s record.

Let’s not forget every man and his dog was writing us off in 2019/20…

(Let’s also not forget they were writing us off in 23/24 and that one went exactly as expected…)

They really are a special breed. This is at least 5 or 6 now that i've seen reference United as a "mid table Championship team".

They go off like they've been better than us for years on end. In reality since they were relegated in 2001 from the PL, they have lost 2 Championship play offs and won the League... 3 top 6 finishes in 25 years.
Add to that 7 seasons in League 1 and one season in League 2... absolute gigantic club

All three will go down I think. It's a shame but as you say, it's a tough step up.

You've set yourself for the next few years though with the promotion. You've just not gotta waste it. We've wasted 3 years of Premier League money and have no legacy to show for it in regards to set up around the club and majority of the playing staff being substandard.

You went up with a side without Prem Quality and didn't add Prem quality, yet he stood out for you. We're putting together a side that has a chance against bottom half clubs with help from Lampard.

It's absolutely shit that the 3 promoted teams are once again highly likely to come down. Last year was a anomaly with Sunderland buying a new team and Leeds being one of the best promoted sides in history. To see Burnley be as poor as they were when they were so much better than the 3 who went up last season was just sad to see.

You either have 2 options it seems. Risk everything, spend beyond your means and hope you stay up like Forest and Sunderland or spend sensibly become a yo-yo club like Burnley. I imagine the vast majority of Coventry, Ipswich and Hull fans will be longing for The Championship again by January and that's so unhealthy for the game.

Great post. The PL has sucked the joy out of football for me. The ultimate aim of Championship football is promotion. Yet the prize has become toxic.
