Copied from the main site in case you haven't seen it & in the hope it will motivate more fans to turn out.

Paul Coutts is pencilled in to captain United's U23s in Tuesday's Sheffield derby at Bramall Lane, kick-off 7pm.

Simon Moore, Kean Bryan, Jake Wright and Conor Washington could also feature against the Owls in the Professional Development League, with the Blades chasing a fourth straight home victory in all competitions.

Admission is free for season ticket holders, otherwise it's £3 adults and £1 concessions.

Blades (from): Moore, Dewhurst, Bennett, Ferguson, Belehouan, Bryan, Neal, Broadbent, Wright, Oure, York, Sheppeard, Coutts, Washington, Greaves, Boyes.

Best team on the pitch as often as possible, regardless of the opposition it’s the same 3 points at stake.

Good decision. He needs as many 90 minutes under his belt as he can get, because it’s inevitable he’s going to be needed for 2 games in a row soon.

The chances of Norwood avoiding a booking over our next 4 games is minimal.

If he does manage to do it against WBA (which I doubt) then it may be worth him picking up a tactical booking in the derby and missing the home games against Rotherham and Brentford. At least then we’d have him back for Leeds and Bristol.

Can't see Coutts getting the nod when Norwood gets suspended.
More like to be Lunny or even Bash.

Why Lundstram or Basham ??
If its Basham its weakening the CB role he fills, Lundstram is not as good a passer as Coutts
At the end of the day Coutts plays better with Fleck its a no brainer

Sadly Coutts has looked a liability just about every time he's played since his injury. He can still play the little triangles in the last five minutes to run the clock down but he hasn't looked like a player who can have any substantial presence in midfield for 90 minutes.

Coutts needs game time. I thought he looked a bit sharper when he came on on Saturday, but still a way to go.

A wise man fortold that the score tonight will be the same as the one in the derby on 4th March.

Oh good.

Agreed.

Which means not quite the shoe in some suggest.

Lest we forget, Coutts was, without a shadow, one of the very best CMs in the Championship pre injury.

Short memories ;)

Pre injury being the important part of your post, can you not remember the last time Coutts had a serious injury, how long it took for him to come back to anything like the player he can be?

Short memories, eh. ;)

Hes not looked like a liabilty in the few 15/20 mins hes had, has he cost us any goals ?
How many 90 mins has he had and dont include the Barnet game as that cannot be used as any sort of kind of yardstick

Coutts was poor tonight but not helped by no movement and a load of inexperienced kids round him. He does not have any acceleration in his legs at all. He can pass but lacks mobility. I would worry we would get overrun in midfield if him and Fleck played

Yes. You might be right.

He might be like Brayford, and never be the same again.

But I wouldn’t give up on him just yet.

Call it a hunch !

He’s not had the chance

Well we’ll be seeing him soon as I would think Norwood is odds on for a yellow on Saturday

What a load of shite that was. Barely laid a glove on them. Inevitable given the line ups, it was men against boys as you'd expect.

Coutts looks OK but he was clearly frustrated by having to single handedly drag a bunch of kids through a game against experienced professionals. His midfield partners offered absolutely nothing. Only Oliver Greaves (10) showed any sort of spark.

Simon Moore again showed why we can't afford Henderson to get injured, and Jake Wright gave them their second goal.

Bryan looked better than against Barnet but looks to be one of those 'little bit of everything but not enough of anything' type players who'll be swiftly moved on.

He’s not had the chance

He played against Forest and Barnet and was poor in both games. I would worry if we have to count on him for two full games after seeing him again tonight. He again could not keep up with opponents and has no acceleration at all. When put under pressure he lost it too. That was at reserve level. I am desperate for him to come good but not sure he's any closer to being an effective starter than when he came back in September...thats 6 months ago.

I said the first time I saw him after the injury, "I don't think he'll ever get back to how he was, he now knows what being hurt feels like, and he won't want that again", and im still standing by that.
I was a massive Coutts fan, but an injury like that, was always going to affect him.
I hope he gets better and fitter, but I still say he'll never be the same.

Hope to be proved wrong.

He’s got a hunch as well as he? OMG! That’s all we needed! That’s him finished for good then.

Coutts isn't a stranger to injuries, he was out for a season whilst at Derby, having had knee surgery (Wikipedia reports it was a dislocated knee)
