Coutts: Get Well Video

Apologies if this is suggested elsewhere. Can some of the chanters/singers get the Coutts song going loud and strong early in the Fulham game, and let's have plenty of people record it. Even sports people at the lowest level (Sheffield Friendlies League in my case) know there are few things worse than a serious injury. Can't imagine what it is like for a professional.
I was thinking we could get videos of the Coutts songs, from the various pubs pre game and collate the videos and send to him. Before every game until he returns !

Just a couple of minutes half an hour before everyone starts heading to the ground

I don't do social media so it's probably why I don't understand things like this.

If someone is in hospital you go and visit them, get them a card or gift etc. Something that takes some effort means a lot. Something which is easy and takes no time loses all the meaning for me.

Also, he might want to be left alone and lean on the support of his family and friends. Football might be something he doesn't want to think about right now, after all many players are terrible watches of the game.

People may want to talk about the Blades family, but none of us on here know Paul Coutts personally and this might not be something he will want.

Not sure what he would do though with 500 bunches of grapes and bottles of lucozade!

You keep ploughing that furrow Boo.

I'll send my best wishes to Coutts.
Just pointing out your double standards. I also wish Mr Coutts a quick speedy recovery having had the same broken bone injury whilst playing football at the age of 27. So I know what it is like. I however did not require the operation that he is needing. I did recover well and was playing again within nine to ten weeks. Obviously a different level but when you loose your income because you are self employed it is just as frightening because I thought it would restrict my job even when recovered.

I didn't think of this video idea when Freeman and Lavery got injured but if I had I would have suggested the same thing.

I'm envisaging this video being something that Paul can draw on when he's inevitably going through a tough spell in his rehab. To know that many people he has never met are wishing him well and care could be what he needs on a bad day to help him push through. It might be something positive he appreciates. I can't see this being anything other than a nice gesture.

If you don't approve of the idea I completely understand.

I know you mean well, but wouldn't it be better to speak to the club and let those who actually know him decide if it's a good idea or not?

Just pointing out your double standards.

Which are?

All I have said is I think this idea is a good one and would be a nice thing to do.

If you can find a post at the time that suggested this for Freeman and I thought it was a bad idea then I'll accept your accusation of double standards. Until such time you're talking nonsense Boo :)

We need your help to send a massive S24SU "Get Well Soon" to Paul Coutts!
------------------------------------------------------------

After all the effort that Couttsy has put in over the past few years we thought it would be a nice idea to send him our well wishes.

Simply record a short video
(15 seconds MAX) and send it to? [email protected]

Foxy will then compile all our videos into one montage and put it online as a show of our support!

Be as positive and creative as you want as long as it fits into a 15 second clip. Paul will need cheering up so you can be funny if you wish. It’s these kind of things that separate us from other fans at other clubs.

UTB

This is easy and can be done on your phone, please film in landscape. If not using your phone then the file may be quite large but you can always use free software like wetransfer.com to get it to Foxy. Thanks to Foxy for his help.

Well done, but a video from me would set back anyone’s recovery...

“Mr Coutts” says it all doesn’t it? It speaks volumes as to your malicious spite against an excellent footballer, a concept that escapes you, of course, being more comfortable with talentless shadow-chasing ragamuffins.

At least have the bottle to say what you think rather than the ‘subtle’ approach that fools nobody?

He struggles to understand all the fuss about a Rolls-Royce of a footballer. He’s uncomfortable with the very idea. He’s a hoofer.

Yes I do say what I think and if you can point out some malicious spite post I have made then go for it.
You can stick to your weird fat football and the cones you keep posting describing your vision of utopian football. The rest of us are extremely satifsfed with the Football Mr Wilder and his coaching and playing staff are serving up.
If you want to watch your cones go elsewhere.
Meanwhile as Mr Wilder keeps pointing out he likes his players to run around a lot with purpose.
He says it loads of times in his interviews.
Suggest you get with the program of Wilders Wonders.
We have all wished "Mr Coutts" well and yet you think it is disrespectful to call him Mr Coutts yet I do not know him personally but we are not a one man team.

AWESOME IDEA!!
hope that wally who sings "Brooks school boys looks" sends one in.
Dem Blades guy too

Think it's a fine idea personally. No harm can come from it, so why not if Foxy doesn't mind the editing.

Wondering about something we could do at the Fulham game though, just simple like keep singing his song or shouting his name at some point.

I see where other posters are coming from when they say why not for Freeman etc but that was a bad injury but this is a season ender maybe a career threatener. Freeman walked out of the ground, had a brace on and crutches but Couttsy left in an ambulance and will probably require a fairly major surgery. I think it's a fair reaction.

You’re making it up again Mr. Boo Radley. I love Wilder’s proper football, played the right way and say so constantly. You’ve asked me to explain the concept of the right way on many occasions and I’ve tried to do so but to no avail. You can kid yourself that running around is all that matters but Tufty and I know otherwise,

Your reference to “Mr. Coutts” was deliberately dismissive. You don’t like or understand proper football. You resent his popularity with the vast majority of us and made the point in a way you thought was subtle but was actually ham-fisted. It was about as elegant and impressive as the grotesque anti-football, played by talentless ragamuffins, that you hold so dear.

Nowt Fancy.

If I received a video from a load of men I don't know telling to get well soon whilst laid up with a broken leg, I'd find it very difficult to masturbate to.
Good idea the full monty, he will be out of that bed before we know it ;)

I think the idea is well intentioned, but once you start down this road you will have to continue for every other serious injury suffered by our players.

At the moment we know that Coutts has broken his leg and he will be out for an indeterminate period of time. We do not know if it is career threatening or a "simple" break that will resolve itself in a few months.

The video idea is like the modern trend of leaving bunches of flowers at accident sites, along with pictures of grieving relatives looking at the spot where their loved one came to grief.

I don't mind if you do or don't do a video, and it could well be a pick me up for the lad, but think of the consequences. It's all a bit mawkish for me. Sorry.

for fuck sake.
you bickering over whether he will appreciate the video. I reckon if he does he'll watch it a few times. If he doesn't he won't, it's not like it's offensive is it? Doesn't carry images of human sacrifice or burning children? I'm sure he'll be able to self manage the situation..
and for all the people knocking the idea, people show support in different ways.
i don't think for 1 minute if any Arsenal player got an injury that bad they would take time out to do this, they don't REALLY give a fuck, if Arse dropped to the 3rd tier what would their gates be? A third at best.
video montage - tis' a bit gay tho. something Steelers fans would do.

No you like David Weir and his style and historically you said so and also said he was the right man for the job.
You also said you don't like Bladey Bladey but that is what we have in a Blades fan Chairman, Manager and Captain. They have got it right despite your protests. The football and style of football we play is what I coached and yes under the guidance of Alan Knill.
You want cone style tippy tappy back play as you have posted many times. Me Alan and Chris know and are showing you the correct way.
Want some other boring style, try the other side of the city. That is where your heart seems to be.
