They are also taking the interests of Beerschot into account.
What you very politely didn't mention is that Beerschot might well now be considered as the lead club within all the team's owned by PA.

After all, you/they are in the Juliper Pro League and can qualify for the Champions League!

Not sure I like the sound of this. So using Utd's money earned by getting promoted and a second prem season is spent on a player for Beerschot who is better than they could afford themselves, and we never see him play? Wtf. Sounds a pretty dodgy way of going about running our finances.

I don’t think we are considered the leading club, until now I have the idea all clubs are run quite independently. They could have sent the best Chateauroux players to Beerschot and the best players at Beerschot to Sheffield but none of that is happening. Coulibaly is a long term project. I genuinely think it’s best for him to have 1 full season in our league and then I can imagine he will join you as a player ready for the step up next season.

I've got to admit I don't get this feeder club thing, but it's beginning to look a lot like one of Mr McCabes ventures abroad. I could see what was in it for his company back then, but never understood what was in it for our club ...... :tumbleweed:

The advantage of a big network, more people having knowledge on prospects.

They are also taking the interests of Beerschot into account. Our squad is quite thin in decent midfielders also. If Coulibaly leaves the prince has another club heading for relegation. When in a group you need to balance each club’s interests. Part what I heard is also that Coulibaly is a discovery of Beerschot scouts and Sheffield only got involved at a very late stage to get the financial side in order and that’s why the group prefers to let him stay at Beerschot. But in football everything can change quickly.

There's a balance, granted. But we're short in midfield & the golden egg is the Premier League...

I think if we were still in the PL Coulibaly would have almost certainly been with us for pre season to get looked at. But right now as we're are relatively similar levels keeping him in a team and league he's familiar with is probably best.

But whenever I’ve mentioned PA using United’s money to buy the stadium I get told “it’s his money”. And whenever anyone says the money he gave Wilder for transfers and wages was just the money the club raised from TV etc by getting promoted, the reply is “it’s his money”.

Whilst Coulibay may benefit from another season in the Belgian League there comes a point where the question has to be asked if the interests of United World are taking precedence over SUFC. We are told he was loaned out to get the requisite qualification to play over here. He has that now. We are now led to believe by Purple Rain that as Beerschot couldn't afford him SUFC stepped in and bought him. So who owns him? Bettis said last season CW could call on him at anytime so why isn't he training with us so that the new manager can assess him? Usually loan players return to their parent club at the end of the season for assessment?

As an asset he has grown in value five fold in a short space of time. He is I believe a box to box midfield player, something SUFC are crying out for. The Belgian League standard is top end championship quality so all the guff from the likes of Hemmingham at Yorkshire Live that he wouldn't get games in the Championship is the usual speculative journalism lacking substance.

If Slavs transfer fund is restricted and we get off to a slow start then questions will begin to be asked why we are not making full use of all the resources available to us, Coulibay being one of them.

If he needs to stay there this season in order to get up to Championship level what happens if we get promoted ?......... 😲

The sound of silence..

Thought this one would have been announced as soon as the clock struck midnight as with the Brunt Lopata and Neal announcements... 🤷‍♂️

I hope not Jono but you have a point. Although today seemed like an academy day in terms of things being fixed up Boyes for example the decision on him likely won’t have crossed hecky’s desk.

Yes, Coulibaly is a long term project

3 years on loan, then he'll need a new contract, won't get a decent one so will leave on a free
